General Hospital (GH) spoilers update for Friday, January 29, teases that Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) will remain suspicious about Dante Falconeri’s (Dominic Zamprogna) heroic move. Jason doesn’t get why Dante would sacrifice himself to save Franco, so he’ll try to get Franco’s view of the situation.
It honestly doesn’t seem that crazy for Dante to stop Alexis Davis (Nancy Lee Grahn) from attacking Franco in the middle of GH – as he would’ve done for anyone else. That’s just the kind of guy Dante is, and it’s not like Dante expected to get jabbed with the syringe by mistake.
Dante had the added motive to protect Franco due to Liesl Obrecht’s (Kathleen Gati) pen-click programming, but Franco and Jason will remain in the dark on that. Instead, Franco may suggest it’s not that wild for Dante the former cop to stop a crime from being committed.
Wouldn’t Jason have tried to stop Sam McCall’s (Kelly Monaco) mom from making a deadly mistake, too? Jason’s suspicions don’t make a ton of sense here, but his spidey senses will be tingling anyway.
Meanwhile, Alexis will tell her version of events to Mac Scorpio (John J. York), who’ll put Alexis on full blast.
It won’t matter to Mac that Alexis thought Sam was at risk. Alexis may admit Sam was right – that she wouldn’t have done something so reckless if she were sober.
Unfortunately, that won’t convince Mac to go easy on Alexis either. There’ll be no way to justify this to Mac, so he may throw the book at Alexis and insist this is how it has to be.
Other General Hospital spoilers say Olivia Falconeri (Lisa LoCicero) will battle plenty of concerns. She’ll demand updates on Dante and just pray that he’s still alive. Olivia waited for what felt like forever for Dante to return to town, so the idea of losing him forever will be brutal.
The good news is Dante’s going to make it and will soon be on the mend. The bad news is Olivia is going to fly off the handle over Alexis’ involvement. GH writers certainly know how to make Olivia hate Alexis’ guts!
Olivia recently discovered that Ned Quartermaine (Wally Kurth) betrayed her with Alexis, who has now almost killed Dante. There’ll be double the reasons for Olivia to lash out.
As for Ned and Robert Scorpio (Tristan Rogers), the’ll do some clashing in Friday’s GH episode. Robert’s presence at GH will irk Ned, who’ll think he can be more than enough of a support system for Olivia.
Robert may think Ned’s got some nerve acting like this when Ned’s the one who had a hookup and lied about it.
GH fans know Robert is simply Olivia’s friend – and he may think Ned would want all the support he could get for Olivia if Ned truly cared as much as he claims. Ned needs to suck it up and stop being a jealous brat about this. Now isn’t the time, Ned!
At the Quartermaine mansion, Monica Quartermaine (Leslie Charleson) will want rid of one particular loudmouthed houseguest.
Tracy Quartermaine (Jane Elliot) will be appalled when she learns Monica’s throwing her out, but Tracy might suggest she’s ready to hit the road anyway. She could probably use another long break from the Quartermaine clan.
Other GH spoilers say Phyllis Caulfield (Joyce Guy) will take Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) for his mental health evaluation. Unfortunately, Sonny will gripe about it and act like it’s weird for Phyllis to care so much about a stranger.
Sonny isn’t thrilled about getting his “head shrunk,” so he’ll take his frustration out on Phyllis.
During Phyllis’ recent discussion with Lenny Caulfield (Rif Hutton), he argued that Phyllis’ obsession with helping people like “Mike” comes from her past mistake. Lenny suggested Phyllis still feels guilty about the adoption drama that went down with Madeline Reeves (Donna Mills).
Even if Phyllis doesn’t tell Sonny all the facts, she may tell an abbreviated version of the story. It might be interesting if Phyllis mentions Nina’s name and gives Sonny the feeling that he’s heard it before. Then again, Phyllis might just allude to wanting to make up for something she did in her history.
Whatever the case, Phyllis may also suggest that she just really likes “Mike” and wants to help him. Phyllis hasn’t known Sonny very long, but she already considers him a friend.
She may think Sonny could use all the friends he can get right now, so Sonny will indeed get his mental health evaluated as part of Phyllis’ demands.
This should lead to Sonny discovering that he’s bipolar as Phyllis suspected. Sonny needs medication to deal with his symptoms and should feel much better once that’s taken care of.
Back in Port Charles, Nina will remain puzzled over this whole pendant situation. Once she lines Avery Corinthos’ (Ava and Grace Scarola) pendant up with her own, it seems the pieces will fit and leave Nina stunned.
Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright) was hoping Nina might’ve gotten her hands on the phony necklace, but it doesn’t look like it’ll turn out that way. Instead, Nina should move to the next phase of trying to identify who dropped this necklace.
Nina has a huge clue since Avery revealed that she found the necklace during a trip to the cabin with Mommy.
Nelle Benson Jerome (Chloe Lanier) went to that same location when she snatched Wiley Quartermaine-Corinthos (Erik and Theo Olson), so Nina might remember that eventually. General Hospital spoilers say Nina will ask if “she” could really be her daughter.
If Nina’s talking about Nelle, her heart will sink as she realizes she should be talking about Nelle in past tense. Nelle WAS Nina’s daughter since she’s dead now. GH fans can expect Jasper “Jax” Jacks (Ingo Rademacher) to pipe up with a plan for honesty.
He’ll want to stop all the lying, so it seems Jax may confess that Carly already told him about Nelle’s pendant.
Jax may explain that he didn’t want to break Nina’s heart with this bombshell any more than Carly did. Although Nina won’t be happy about the lie, she won’t be happy about the truth either. We may see Nina ultimately be somewhat understanding, but she’ll be missing a crucial piece of the story.
Carly tried to pull Nelle up when she was dangling off the cliff side, but she failed – and Jax insisted a cover-up was the best solution. Jax thought the cops would suspect Carly murdered Nelle, but the cover-up will make matters worse down the road.
One way or another, Nina will figure out Carly’s deception regarding Nelle’s demise – and that should leave her wanting to avenge her daughter’s death! Until then, it seems Nina will have to wrap her head around the identity of her child and regret the missed connection.
