General Hospital (GH) spoilers update for Friday, July 30, teases that Austin Gatlin Holt (Roger Howarth) will face a Quartermaine clan warning while Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell) trusts a strategy Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) would use. Sam McCall (Kelly Monaco) will also have bad news to pass along, so here’s what GH has in store.
At Elizabeth Baldwin’s (Rebecca Herbst) house, she’ll call Nikolas Cassadine (Marcus Coloma) for ordering the hit on Hayden Barnes (Rebecca Budig).
Now that Sam and Shawn Butler (Sean Blakemore) are digging around, Liz won’t like the responsibility of covering for Nikolas – especially when he nearly killed her half-sister.
Nikolas will understand that this puts Liz in a tight spot, but he’ll hope she’s willing to stay tight-lipped.
Perhaps Nikolas will even bring Spencer Cassadine (Nicholas Chavez) into the conversation and point out that he’s missed out on so much time with his son.
That’s mostly Nikolas’ fault for pretending he was dead for so long, but he may still beg Liz to keep quiet and keep him a free man – for Spencer’s sake if nothing else.
Speaking of Spencer, his attempt at a truce with Ava Jerome (Maura West) won’t really pan out. Spencer obviously isn’t being genuine, so Ava may see right through him and wonder what angle he’s working.
Regardless, Spencer will sit down across from Ava and push for answers about how she’s treating Nikolas. He’ll feel like Ava’s cold to Nikolas one minute and embracing her soon-to-be ex-husband the next.
Spencer will push for answers about Ava’s mixed signals, but Ava may not feel like this is really any of Spencer’s business.
Besides, Ava and Nikolas are still getting a divorce, so she may think Spencer should shut up and take the win.
Naturally, Ava doesn’t realize just how much of a win it really is for Spencer. He’s the one who orchestrated this whole stalker plot, so that’s a shocker that’ll come to light down the road and bring serious backlash.
In the meantime, Sam will track Shawn down so she can offer some disappointing updates.
Sam’s meetings with Nikolas and Liz proved pointless, but Shawn will remain devoted to uncovering the truth about who shot Hayden.
Sam will still be committed to the mission as well, so they’ll just have to be patient and keep at it.
At the Quartermaine mansion, Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart) will warn Austin to watch his back.
Although Valentin considers himself Quartermaine adjacent through “Bailey Quartermaine” aka Louise August (Harper and Scarlett Bloom), he knows what it’s like to be the family interloper.
Valentin may advise Austin to proceed with caution when it comes to anything related to the Quartermaine clan.
If Austin does end up with shares, he’s someone Valentin is going to want on his side when the ELQ vote comes. With that in mind, it looks like Valentin will try to forge a bond.
However, Brook Lynn Quartermaine (Amanda Setton) will fear disaster since she’s already wary of Austin and the possibility he’ll figure out she’s watching over Maxie Jones’ (Kirsten Storms) baby.
The last thing Brook Lynn needs is Valentin stirring the Quartermaine pot even further. She’ll want Valentin to back off Austin and avoid creating unnecessary trouble.
Austin will wonder what Harrison Chase (Josh Swickard) thinks about Valentin’s warning, but Chase may insist the Quartermaines are good people – particularly Michael.
Chase doesn’t know Michael and Willow Chase (Katelyn MacMullen) are hiding their true feelings, so Chase should praise Michael as a kind and loyal friend.
As for Michael, he’ll share some scenes with Jason and hint at handling something the way Jason would.
This Jason-like strategy could tie in with Michael’s complicated Willow situation or perhaps what’s going on with Austin.
Whatever the case, Michael and Willow will struggle with their desires when they meet up later.
They’ll get too close for comfort at the gatehouse and won’t notice when Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright) arrives.
Carly will sense trouble when she sees this powerful connection on full display.
Carly will grill Willow and Michael, so these forbidden lovebirds will have to choose honesty or find a way to cover their blunder.
Of course, Carly may not buy Michael and Willow’s attempts to explain away their passionate-looking moment!
