In tonight’s NCIS Hawaiʻi episode, A soccer game among children came to an end when the coach who also happens to be a mother to one of the young girls had needed a helicopter to fly to work. NCIS Special Agent Jane Tennant was called in and she and her team were responding to a down pilot. The pilot was Navy. His name was Lt. Commander David Walters.

He was a part of a highly classified mission flying an experimental plane when the said plane went down and he was killed in the blast. Tennant faced issues with the Navy as she went about investigating. They had wanted to give her team the case because the plane was a part of a top-secret defense project and so they worried about Tennant’s clearance. She eventually showed them that she was cleared. And that she has connections.

Tennant got the case. She and her people began working on it and she also had to get her new guy out of prison. NCIS Special Agent Kai Holman was arrested for arguing against a police officer. The officer was being aggressive with the locals and so Holman spoke up for them. He was also arrested for his troubles. It had been Tennant who got him out of prison and she told him that next time his first phone call has to be to her. She will handle any blowback.

Holman is the newest person on her team and they still call him the new guy after two weeks on the job. He was there when what little they got from the autopsy was revealed. Their victim died of an overdose. They had checked his apartment and they hadn’t found any drugs.

If anything, Walters was a clean freak bordering on anal. There were only health supplements located in his apartment and his commanding officer would have noticed if the pilot had a drug problem. There was also the issue of Walter’s missing girlfriend. She went dark a few days ago and so they tracked her down to her last location. Noelani had been murdered.

She was killed and her body as well as her car was hidden out in the forest. NCIS found it. Their working theory was that Walters killed her and possibly killed himself. Tennant informed Walter’s commanding officer of the issue and he took an exception to it. Navy Captain Joe Milius thought what happened to his office was an accident. He wanted the body to be turned over to the victim’s family.

Only Tennant couldn’t do that because it was an active investigation. She got in trouble enough when someone on her team read a classified report upside down and so Tennant didn’t need more deterrents. She held onto the body. She and her team later learned that Walters’s supplements had been spiked. Someone switched the healthy stuff and put in its place a dangerous drug. Walters also reported his girlfriend as missing after she started ghosting him and so that changed the team’s theory. They now believe that Noelani was a spy. She started dating a Navy pilot with top-secret clearance and right as they were getting serious that’s when she chose to ghost him. Almost as if she got everything she needed.

Then Walters went looking for her. Noelani’s friends who were also a part of the spy ring probably killed her to hide what they knew and how they knew it. They also took care of Walters because he was poking around. The team now knew what happened. They went looking for the ring and they also this espionage ring wasn’t done targeting Navy officials. It turns out Walters only knew a part of the project. He wasn’t given the full information. No one on the team had been told everything and so the ring will have to find someone else to give them the last piece of the clue. Tennant’s team investigated every person attached to the top-secret project. They also did a deep dive on who started a new relationship and one person stood out.

Their guy was dated a cocktail waitress named Sally. The ring was using the same method as before by having someone be a honeypot and the team got a lead. Holman’s drugs contact reported that a guy nicknamed the “Big Luna” had purchased an obscene of the same found in Walters’s autopsy. The team looked into it. They couldn’t find a Big Luna or anyone who went by that pseudonym. They did track down this Sally, though. They came close to finding who was behind the ring as well when the team was led on a merry chase and were even shot at for their troubles. Things ended with their suspect in the ring dropping into the water and both Tennant and Holman dropping in right after him. They found Big Luna.

They also found his stash. They found evidence of Walters’s murder and Noelani’s murders. Then there was Sally. Sally tried to pretend to be a victim until they revealed their deep background to her and so that’s when she came clean. Sally told them how China was behind everything.

THE END!
