The Bold and the Beautiful (B&B) spoilers tease that Eric Forrester (John McCook) may demand that Carter Walton (Lawrence Saint-Victor) resign as COO or be fired. Under the circumstances, it’d be reasonable for an ultimatum to follow the Quinn Forrester (Rena Sofer) affair blowup.
Eric will certainly blast Quinn for breaking her marriage vows and cheating on him with Carter.
Quinn is the one who was married to Eric and had the greatest responsibility to be loyal to him. However, that doesn’t mean Eric won’t be hurt over Carter’s role in this betrayal.
B&B fans know Carter has been a good friend of the Forrester family for years. They’ve tried to show Carter just how much they value him in recent months, including when Carter was given the COO role at Forrester Creations.
Eric and Ridge Forrester (Thorsten Kaye) are particularly tight with Carter, so the fact that he could go behind Eric’s back with his own wife will be hard to process.
Nevertheless, Eric will take some time to deal with this betrayal blow before he settles on his next move.
Eric will come up with a request that he delivers to Carter during the week of July 12-16, but there’s a good chance it’ll actually be more of a demand.
Eric may not want to see Carter’s face around the office anymore, so that could lead to that ultimatum we mentioned.
Although Eric will remain crushed and furious in the aftermath of Quinn and Carter’s affair, he’s not a cruel man.
Eric may want to spare Carter the humiliation of flat-out firing him, so he might give him the option of stepping down to avoid embarrassment.
Perhaps Eric will argue that it’d be better for Carter to resign than get tossed out and be forced to leave in disgrace. If Eric does ask Carter to step down from the COO spot, he surely won’t fight him too much on that.
Carter already feels guilty and will feel even worse in the coming episodes, so he may do what Eric asks without any hesitation and accept that he deserves it.
