The Bold and the Beautiful (B&B) spoilers tease that Eric Forrester (John McCook) may propose an open marriage to a shocked Quinn Forrester (Rena Sofer). Will Eric offer to let Carter Walton (Lawrence Saint-Victor) satisfy his wife’s needs? Let’s look at some hints and try to figure out B&B’s next story shocker.
For starters, fall preview info confirms that a major twist is indeed brewing, which will involve Carter, Quinn and Eric.
This twist will supposedly surprise plenty of fans and create a bit of controversy. It’ll turn this into a story that enters unexpected new territory for daytime television.
If Eric were lying about his diagnosis, that wouldn’t really be anything fresh or noteworthy. Many characters have lied about illnesses as part of schemes before. Besides, Eric seems genuinely distraught over not being able to fulfill Quinn.
We’re not getting the vibe that this is some kind of vengeful setup, especially since B&B writers gave Eric a very real condition.
It’d be offensive to those who suffer from ED if they turned it into some big “gotcha,” so we have to believe Eric’s being as truthful and vulnerable as he seems to be.
Eric is obviously struggling since he cares about Quinn and wants her to feel desirable, but he can’t make love to her like he used to.
Since Eric fears that’s never going to change, he might come up with a solution that catches Quinn off guard.
The Bold and the Beautiful spoilers say Eric will eavesdrop on a discussion between Quinn and Shauna Fulton (Denise Richards) during the week of September 6-10.
Quinn is always honest with her bestie, so Eric may have a chance to hear about how she misses the passion in their marriage – the passion Carter was able to provide.
Eric will also witness a close moment between Quinn and Carter later, but he won’t have a meltdown or push Quinn away. Instead, Eric will try to pull Quinn closer with dinner and dancing in the aftermath.
That tells us that although Eric will realize Quinn still feels drawn to Carter, he won’t dump her or judge her for it.
Eric blamed himself for inadvertently pushing Quinn into Carter’s bed before, but maybe he’ll do it intentionally this time!
Perhaps the controversial twist will involve Eric suggesting an open marriage so that Quinn can still get her needs satisfied. That doesn’t mean Quinn will go for the idea, but she might at least consider it.
Eric might argue that he can be Quinn’s husband in every other way and see how she’d feel about letting Carter or any other man handle things in the bedroom.
It’s not ideal, but it might help alleviate Eric’s guilt over not giving Quinn the fulfillment she deserves.
This would check all the boxes in terms of a controversial storyline that’s unexpected and new, so maybe an open relationship is indeed on the way.
