The Bold and the Beautiful (B&B) spoilers tease that John “Finn” Finnegan (Tanner Novlan) will make an adoption confession and reveal a surprising family story to Steffy Forrester (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood). During the week of August 2-6, Steffy will learn more about Finn’s past and adoptive parents – including what kind of relationship he has with them.
Li Finnegan (Naomi Matsuda) is a surgeon who devoted a great deal of time to her work and never really thought about having children until later in life.
Li was always too busy to think about starting a family. However, Li ultimately came to desire a child and adopted Finn with Jack Finnegan (Ted King).
It doesn’t sound like there are any siblings in the picture for Finn unless perhaps Jack has children from a previous marriage.
Regardless, Finn thinks of Jack and Li as his “real” mom and dad.
Finn apparently had a positive upbringing filled with plenty of love, even if his parents remained a bit busy with their careers.
Finn obviously followed in Li’s footsteps by choosing a career in medicine, so she instilled the desire to help people along with a sense of ambition. Li was a mentor to Finn and taught him everything she knows.
Of course, Finn may not be as close to Jack and Li these days as he’d like to be since he’s got a hectic career of his own.
Finn also has an infant to take care of with Steffy Forrester (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood), so it’s easy to see why his parents might feel distant.
It appears Jack and Li live on the opposite side of the country, so there’s a physical distance factor here as well.
Finn will initially be pleased over the family reunion that’s coming up, but that doesn’t mean the peace will last long!
There’s going to be some conflict between the Forresters and the Finnegans, so Steffy’s bound to get caught in the middle of it all.
Steffy might even be the source of contention if Jack and Li don’t feel Steffy’s good enough for their beloved son.
There are some hints about Li being particularly protective of Finn, so that could be an issue for Steffy.
Whatever the case, Finn’s big secret is that he’s adopted, though it’s certainly not something he’s ashamed of.
This also presents the possibility of Finn’s birth parents being found and joining the story eventually, so B&B has some interesting places to go with this. We’ll offer updates as other news becomes available.
