The Bold and the Beautiful (B&B) spoilers recap for Friday, April 23, reveals that Hope Spencer (Annika Noelle) called Liam Spencer (Scott Clifton) and talked about how worried she’d been. Hope convinced Liam to come over since if he didn’t, she’d be even more worried.
Brooke Forrester (Katherine Kelly Lang) overheard the end of Hope’s side of the conversation and suggested that didn’t sound good. Hope admitted she thought something was going on with Liam. Brooke admitted it was strange for Liam to turn down a chance at spending time with the kids.
Hope said Liam was really down on himself and that his attitude had completely changed. Despite the separation, Hope insisted Liam was her husband. She was determined to talk to him, so Brooke thought Hope was inching toward forgiveness.
Bill Spencer (Don Diamont) warned Liam to get his head on straight, but Liam thought that was easier said than done since he’d killed someone. Bill felt Liam had better find a way to deal with this or else he’d put him on the jet out of there.
When Bill found out Hope wanted to see Liam, he insisted Liam had a chance to fix his relationship. On Friday’s Bold and the Beautiful episode, Bill warned Liam not to let “that loser” take his family from him.
At the police station, Detective Alex Sanchez (Jeremy Ray Valdez) asked for Deputy Chief Bradley Baker’s (Dan White) thoughts on the Vincent Walker (Joe LoCicero) case. Baker suggested that Vincent was in some serious trouble that caught up with him on the road that night.
Sanchez guessed maybe a robbery or a drug deal gone bad, which Baker said seemed reasonable. However, Detective Sanchez got the feeling that Baker had another idea. Baker couldn’t help but wonder if this somehow tied back to the paternity test case. He’d seen murder happen for a lot less!
Deputy Chief Baker thought Vinny’s phone records would help – and Detective Sanchez suggested looking into the GPS since Vinny might’ve had a favorite spot for drug deals. They were going to check into Vinny’s work schedule as well.
Sanchez could tell that Baker seemed to have a hunch about this paternity test angle. Baker insisted he just had a few questions to ask – mainly ones for Dr. John “Finn” Finnegan (Tanner Novlan), Thomas Forrester (Matthew Atkinson) and Liam Spencer.
Vinny tried to rob Finn of his child, so Baker thought perhaps Finn had a strong motive. Detective Sanchez pointed out that Vinny wasn’t targeting Finn. It was about helping Thomas, so Baker pointed out that Thomas made a big show about wanting justice. Even so, Thomas was furious with his friend over the betrayal – and there was also Thomas’ shady past to consider.
Sanchez noted that Liam was hurt most of all by Vinny’s actions, so Baker agreed that Liam’s marriage and family had been sabotaged. He thought Liam might be harboring a lot of resentment. Sanchez admitted he didn’t think any of these guys would’ve resorted to murder over the paternity test tampering.
At Spencer Publications, Bill was pleasantly surprised to see Katie Logan (Heather Tom). He wanted to hang out with Will Spencer (Finnegan George) soon and alluded to Liam needing personal time. Katie thought Bill might need some, too – and Bill insisted he wanted to spend it with Katie.
Bill felt confident that Liam could get things straightened out. Liam just had to get past his crippling guilt and open his eyes to the future he had planned with Hope.
Bill knew how hard it was to be apart from family and the woman you love. He promised that Katie and Will were always on his mind. “My family is my priority, and I will do whatever I have to do to protect them,” Bill insisted.
At the cabin on Friday’s B&B episode, Liam arrived and was apologetic for staying away. He looked around and thought maybe this was where he needed to be after all.
Liam reflected on how he’d let Hope and the kids down. He mentioned how one night could change everything, but Hope got choked up about how she didn’t separate from Liam to punish him.
Hope really did need time to sort through her feelings. She wasn’t sure she would ever be able to reach a place of forgiveness, but she suggested she was there. Liam asked if Hope had really forgiven him, so she confessed it’d be a process.
However, what mattered to Hope was Liam and their family. She cried as she asked Liam to come home, so he rushed into Hope’s arms and kissed her passionately.
