The Bold and the Beautiful (B&B) spoilers tease that Justin Barber (Aaron D. Spears) needs mental help and could be poised for a psychiatric facility stay. Is that how this will end for Bill Spencer’s (Don Diamont) insane former friend?
When Thomas Forrester (Matthew Atkinson) is trying to talk some sense into you, something is seriously wrong! There was no one more unhinged and out of control than Thomas once upon a time. However, Thomas took the steps he needed to find a better path.
It’s still kind of wild that Thomas is in this situation where he’s trying to get Justin to be rational, but that’s where we’re at! Justin doesn’t seem emotionally stable and has been driven over the edge by Bill’s mistreatment over the years.
B&B could send Justin to prison at the end of this arc, but that doesn’t seem like it’d fix anything. That would only make Justin more resentful and wouldn’t solve his obvious mental health problems.
Justin has completely gone off the rails and needs professional help to come out stronger on the other side.
Of course, writing this as a mental break would preserve the character and leave the door open for Justin to return as a changed man.
Justin could settle down with therapy and medication – paving the way for reconciliation with Bill and a path forward they can both agree on.
Perhaps Bill could forgive Justin if this is truly a mental health battle and isn’t his fault. If Thomas can be redeemed after everything he’s done, so can Justin. There’s no need to toss this character away when Justin could find redemption and recovery.
Bill’s bound to be furious when he realizes Justin has betrayed him, but he could ultimately realize he played a role in driving Justin to this point.
Maybe once Justin gets the treatment he needs, Bill could give him a promotion and push to be real friends again.
