The Bold and the Beautiful (B&B) spoilers recap for Monday, June 21, reveals that Vinny Walker (Joe LoCicero) killed himself to frame Liam Spencer (Scott Clifton) – and it was proven through a shocking suicide video. It was all part of Vinny’s final plan to reunite Thomas Forrester (Matthew Atkinson) with Hope Spencer (Annika Noelle), so let’s talk about the details of Monday’s jaw-dropping B&B episode.
At Forrester Creations, Brooke Forrester (Katherine Kelly Lang) remained concerned about Thomas, who might think he could have a life with Hope if Liam was locked up for years. Brooke felt it was a slippery slope and that Thomas’ obsessive tendencies could come out.
Ridge Forrester (Thorsten Kaye) argued that like it or not, Thomas would step up along with the rest of the family to help Hope.
Ridge considered the possibility that Liam might be stuck behind bars for the rest of his life. Ridge wondered if Brooke wanted her daughter to be alone.
Although Ridge wasn’t saying Thomas would necessarily be the one Hope turned to, he thought Brooke should consider what Hope might want in that case.
Ridge argued that maybe Hope would start thinking she wanted someone who knew her, the kids and her life. “And what if that person is Thomas?” Ridge asked.
At the cabin, Hope heard Brooke’s voice warning her not to open herself up too much to Thomas. She quickly pulled away and cut her conversation with Thomas short. Hope insisted that Liam would come home because he had to.
Thomas headed to the office, where he complained to Zende Forrester Dominguez (Delon de Metz) about his phone. Zende’s texts hadn’t been coming through, so he suggested some updates or a reset to get things working properly again.
Once Zende fixed Thomas’ phone, texts came pouring in – including some Thomas missed since he blocked Vinny’s number. Vinny talked about how his life had reached a dead end before he offered an apology.
“I promise to make it right for you and for Hope!” Vinny said in one of his messages. He vowed to make things right if it was the last thing he did. Thomas cried as he opened a video that was timestamped just before Liam ran Vinny down.
In that video, Vinny apologized again and insisted that Thomas deserved the best. He maintained that Thomas would be with Hope instead of Liam. Vinny said he had it all worked out – that he was tracking Liam and that he was almost there.
Vinny insisted he was doing this for Thomas and that his friend would have the family he deserves with Hope and Douglas Forrester (Henry Joseph Samiri).
“Goodbye, man. I love you,” Vinny said before being run down by Liam in Bill Spencer’s (Don Diamont) car. Thomas replayed the end of the video and cried harder as he wrapped his head around Vinny’s suicide.
In jail, Justin Barber (Aaron D. Spears) insisted he would do what he could to help Liam. Hope arrived and begged Justin to get Liam out of there, but Liam didn’t have high hopes.
Once Liam was alone with Hope, he pushed her to prepare for the reality that he might stay locked up.
Liam had thought a lot about it and felt it was time to prepare the kids for the possibility that he wouldn’t come home, too. He worried the kids might find out some other way and wonder why Hope lied to them.
Liam wanted Hope to start taking care of herself, but Hope argued that Liam was the only future she saw. She refused to give up on Liam and wouldn’t let him give up either.
Hope intended to wait on more answers before they told the kids anything. She didn’t want just memories and felt they had to get their future back on track.
Liam insisted he was trying to cling to hope before Deputy Chief Bradley Baker (Dan Martin) appeared. Time was up, but Hope pushed Baker to please just let Liam go since he was innocent.
Baker said he’d do it if the judge told him to, but he pointed out that Liam confessed and had motive. He said they were looking at involuntary manslaughter at the very least – maybe worse.
Hope clutched her chest in despair after Liam was led back to his cell.
