The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers reveal that Victoria Newman’s (Amelia Heinle) effort to pull Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) and Lily Winters (Christel Khalil) apart ended up pushing them closer.
Victoria wasn’t keen on Lily spending time with the kids since she expected Billy’s latest romance to crash and burn like all the others before it.
However, that got Billy thinking and caused him to admit to Lily that she’s “the one” – or at least he thinks she is.
The jury’s still out on that as far as most fans are concerned, but Billy is certainly committed to Lily and their future. Likewise, Lily is on board with this being a serious relationship.
Of course, most serious relationships tend to lead to marriage, so let’s talk about that possibility for Lily and Billy. If Victoria is this territorial while Billy’s dating, what’s she going to be like once Billy and Lily are engaged?!
Billy fought hard to convince Victoria to accept his proposal after their most recent reunion. It took some serious work since Victoria wanted to go slow and was hesitant to trust Billy with her heart again.
Victoria just couldn’t get on board with another marriage, so they compromised with a recommitment ceremony.
It was a wise decision for Victoria since Billy went off the rails and ended up choosing his freedom over his family at the time. Nevertheless, Y&R fans know Billy has grown up a lot since then.
Unfortunately, it’s Lily who’s reaping the benefits, which is no doubt part of the problem. It has to be tough to watch Billy be a mature adult with Lily when he was a childish brat with Victoria.
Now Victoria may have to watch Billy propose and plan a wedding to Lily. If Lily is “the one,” that surely means Billy will want to marry her eventually. They’re not at that stage just yet, but Young and the Restless romances often move fast.
It probably won’t be that long until Billy’s buying some new bling and getting down on one knee to pop the question.
Victoria may end up losing it over Billy and Lily’s engagement down the road. In fact, it could bring Victoria’s worst freak-out yet!
