The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers tease that a sleazy scoop could land in Billy Abbott’s (Jason Thompson) lap – along with the temptation for a serious betrayal. Let’s look at the developments that have been happening in Billy’s life lately and figure out how they might fit in his future.
Y&R fans know Billy clashed with Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) after they both wound up needing the Jabot jet. It seemed like a great setup for a reignited war between them.
Of course, Billy also took Summer Newman (Hunter King) aside to apologize for using her in the past. Summer and Billy moved beyond their issues – setting up the potential for a brand-new grudge soon enough.
Lily Winters (Christel Khalil) has worked hard to convince Billy he has to let go of his Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) obsession. Billy has indeed shifted his focus away from Adam at Chancellor Communications, but that means he’ll need some other stories and shockers to get people talking.
Billy is a gambler, even when it’s not about money. He’s a guy who likes taking risks and pushing the envelope. A stable relationship with Lily isn’t going to change who Billy is at his core, so she might as well get used to it!
That brings us to Billy’s next bold move and this possible revived feud with Kyle, which could tie in with Summer.
A few months ago when Billy met Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope), Sally was all about networking. At the time, The Young and the Restless spoilers suggested that Billy might grow more curious about Sally’s agenda down the road. It was heavily implied that Sally and Billy’s link would circle back around.
Flash-forward to now when Sally’s sitting on a massive story that could be a real hit for Chancellor Communications – a story that could blow up Kyle’s life!
If Kyle and Summer play a role in Sally’s exposed LA secrets somewhere down the line, Sally might retaliate by leaking the affair and secret kid news to Billy.
Since this Ashland Locke guy is such a big deal, it’ll be a huge scandal once it gets out that his wife cheated on him – especially after the public learns Tara Locke got pregnant by a young, handsome Abbott.
Throw in the fact that Kyle’s involved with Summer, the granddaughter of the famous Victor Newman (Eric Braeden), and this could be a major source of clicks. There’d be a lot of eye-catching names for Billy in this story.
Even if Sally isn’t the one who gives Billy the scoop, there’s always former Chance Comm employee Theo Vanderway (Tyler Johnson). Theo would be more than willing to drop this bomb and let Billy spread the word about Kyle’s scandalous history.
The problem is obviously that Billy’s an Abbott himself. Kyle is Billy’s nephew– and Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) won’t be pleased at all if Billy exposes family secrets so publicly.
The same goes for the rest of the Abbotts and even the Newmans since this move would hurt Summer. Billy could give Victor yet another reason to target him.
Nevertheless, Billy has proven that he finds it difficult to resist a hot exposé. This could be a golden opportunity for a new one, so we’ll see if Billy ends up publishing something that ruffles more than a few feathers – including Lily’s. As other Y&R updates come in, we’ll bring you more info.
