The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers tease that Chance Chancellor’s (Conner Floyd) divorce demand may stun Abby Newman-Abbott-Chancellor (Melissa Ordway). Will Chance decide he just can’t keep his husband and father promises?
Ever since Chance returned from his mission, he’s been struggling to adjust to civilian life again.
Chance is battling plenty of guilt about spending so much time away from Abby, who documented her own struggles in that video diary.
Of course, Chance also missed out on so many moments and milestones he’ll never get back with Dominic Newman-Abbott-Chancellor (Rainn and River Ware).
Since Chance is finding it tough to bond with Dominic, that’s just something else for him to feel terrible about.
Devon Hamilton (Bryton James) isn’t helping since his own strong bond with Dominic is on full display.
Now that Devon is pushing for shared custody, it’s easy to see why Chance feels like such an outsider.
From where Chance is standing, Devon is the one who was there for Abby and Dominic while he was gone.
Devon is also the one who can comfort Dominic and easily slide in that father role. Since Chance is dealing with so much trauma and self-doubt, Y&R spoilers say he may continue to pull away from Abby.
Chance believes he’s created a mess and may feel like a burden for Abby in the coming weeks.
Although Chance told Devon he would try to live up to the commitments he made, he had to wonder if he could really keep them. That could be a painful theme for Chance in the new year.
Chance may feel like the kindest thing he could do for Abby and Dominic is walk away.
Chance may end up dropping a divorce bomb on Abby and insisting he’s just not the same man anymore. He might argue that this marriage needs to end and push Abby to co-parent with Devon as Dominic’s biological father.
Of course, Abby has proven that she’s willing to fight for love with everything she’s got!
Abby may dig her heels in and reject any divorce notion, but the story certainly seems to be moving in the direction of Chance pushing for one.
The Young and the Restless spoilers say Abby and Chance have more difficulties ahead, especially due to Devon’s insistence on increasing his presence in Dominic’s life.
