The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers reveal that the CBS soap is already setting up a defense for Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan) in the case of poisoned Rey Rosales (Jordi Vilaso).
In the Tuesday, March 6 episode, Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) speculates to Sharon Rosales (Sharon Case) that Chelsea’s stroke may have had a deeper psychological impact. He’s adamant that Chelsea clearly needs help.
Sharon also makes a comment about Chelsea’s potential mental problems due to her ordeal, so Y&R writers seem to be giving Chelsea an out. This makes sense considering how far we’ve seen Chelsea go on her quest for revenge.
Poisoning Rey with thallium is extreme – even for Chelsea!
It’s true that Chelsea has been known to resort to dirty tactics in the past, but Rey was completely innocent. In fact, Rey was a fellow victim like Chelsea!
They’re in the same boat when it comes to Adam and Sharon never being able to stay away from each other. Targeting Rey was a drastic move that could’ve gone horribly wrong.
Now it’s looking like Chelsea is going to get off the hook due to her brain trauma, so what does that mean for her relationship with Adam?
Could there still be hope for Adam and Chelsea as a pairing? It might take a lot of time and work to find a way forward, but we certainly wouldn’t rule it out.
Adam still believes Chelsea’s ruptured brain aneurysm and stroke were his fault, so he can understand why Chelsea would blame him for what happened to her.
Although Chelsea has made great strides in her recovery physically, it seems she’s still got a long way to go emotionally and mentally.
Perhaps once Chelsea gets the treatment she needs, there could still be hope for Chelsea and Adam as a couple. If Adam can finally break free from the hold Sharon has on him, maybe there’s a way forward with Chelsea.
Adam was given another chance after he kidnapped Chelsea, which was another pretty ruthless move.
Although Adam claimed he didn’t order his minion to drug Chelsea, she was indeed drugged and hallucinated while she was held hostage.
That ordeal felt like something that’d be tough for Adam and Chelsea to come back from, but The Young and the Restless writers quickly put them back together anyway. Now Chelsea has made it even with this plot to frame Adam for Rey’s attempted murder.
We certainly can’t rule out the idea of Chelsea and Adam reuniting, especially since they share a permanent bond through their son, Connor Newman (Judah Mackey).
The Young and the Restless spoilers say Chelsea could get the help she needs and become quite apologetic for how low she sank with this twisted scheme of hers.
Likewise, Adam might be deeply sorry for setting the events in motion that led to this downward spiral for Chelsea and set her up for severe mental distress.
There’s the potential for Chelsea and Adam to find their way back to each other and still have that wedding they planned after all. Are you still rooting for Adam and Chelsea as a couple?
