The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers reveal that Chelsea Lawson’s (Melissa Claire Egan) character has definitely taken a dark turn. It’s one thing to send some bogus text messages and plant stolen trinkets to set up Adam Newman (Mark Grossman).
It’s quite another to poison an innocent detective and leave everyone else in the house vulnerable to thallium exposure.
Chelsea indeed set Adam up for poisoning Rey Rosales (Jordi Vilasuso), but there are so many ways that plot could’ve gone wrong. What if Sharon Rosales (Sharon Case) and Faith Newman (Alyvia Alyn Lind) had borrowed Rey’s body wash after running out of their own?
What if Chelsea had misjudged the dosage and killed Rey by mistake?
If Rey was sick enough to be in the ICU, the situation was already quite serious. If there had been a delay on that antidote from Chicago, Sharon might be picking out a casket right now. Chelsea doesn’t get to act like it was no biggie and just move on with her life!
Chelsea needs to face some consequences, so we have to wonder what Y&R might have in store for her. Since Chelsea shows no real remorse for what she did to Rey and is downright excited about her plan’s success, this is a real turn for the character.
Chelsea has always had a very shady criminal side, but she now thinks it’s fine to make people deathly ill in the hospital.
Now that The Young and the Restless is sinking Chelsea into such terrible territory, will they send Chelsea to prison and off canvas for a while? That’s one option to consider.
Another option might be if Chelsea had some brain issues related to her ruptured aneurysm and stroke. Maybe there could be a medical explanation for why Chelsea is suddenly so nonchalant about attempted murder.
Chelsea could land behind bars or get off the hook if her behavior is related to brain trauma, but there’s a third possibility. Could Chelsea become a murder mystery victim? It would serve Chelsea right under the circumstances – and we could certainly think of some good suspects.
Chloe Mitchell (Elizabeth Hendrickson) will claim that she’s not going to turn on Chelsea, but she might change her mind if it looks like she’s going to land in prison.
Chloe has been known to go off the rails, so she might fear she’s going to lose her children and retaliate in anger.
Rey might be a suspect along with vengeful Adam or even Victor Newman (Eric Braeden). Victor can definitely make people disappear, so Chelsea might fate a grim fate if Victor’s pushed too far.
Since Chelsea has dragged Chloe into trouble that could blow up their family, Kevin Fisher (Greg Rikaart) might be a possible Chelsea killer.
Even Lola Rosales (Sasha Calle) could be pushed over the edge over what happened to her brother. There’s also Sharon, who’ll be furious over both Rey and Adam being targeted once she gets updates.
