The Young and the Restless Spoilers: Friday, April 16 Recap – Chelsea Restraining Order – Tara’s Call Panic – Victoria Tips Off Rey

The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers recap Friday, April 16, teases Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan) will get on a video chat with Connor Newman (Judah Mackey), who’ll be thrilled to hear from his mom after all this time.

Connor will want to talk to Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) as well, but Chelsea will fib that his dad’s working with Grandpa Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) today.

Connor will have to get to class, but Chelsea will assure her son that they’ll catch up more later. Afterward, Chelsea will get on the phone with Connor’s headmaster and thank him for helping to shield Connor from the news about his father.

However, Chelsea will insist the stories about Adam are all true. She’ll note that she intends to file a restraining order and will warn about how dangerous Adam is.

At Society, Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) will fill Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) in on how she spotted a rare brand of scotch during her trip to the ranch. It was a favorite of Adam’s, so Victoria will suspect Victor’s hiding him there.

Although Nikki hasn’t seen or heard anything, she won’t be surprised if Victor is indeed hiding his son. Victoria will complain since Nikki is shrugging this off instead of voicing outrage.

“What’s it gonna take? I mean, is there anything that Dad can actually do to upset you?!” Victoria will ask in Friday’s Y&R episode.

Nikki will argue that she’s gotten plenty angry with Victor over the years, but she’s learned which battles to pick. She’ll note that Adam saved Faith Newman’s (Reylynn Caster) life, so she’ll feel like that has to count for something.

Plus, Adam can’t stay hidden forever. Nikki will urge Victoria to just savor her Cyaxares win and trust that everything will work out.

At the cottage, Rey Rosales (Jordi Vilasuso) will come back from the gym and a smoothie run for Faith. He’ll admit he’s not going to be in court for Faith since that’s her parents’ job.

Rey will make it clear to Sharon that nothing has changed since last night. He’ll still plan to leave after everything is settled with Faith.

Once Faith comes down dressed for court, she’ll repeat how sorry she is. Rey will be proud of Faith for taking responsibility. He’ll shoot Sharon a dirty look as he talks about Faith being braver and a lot more responsible than some adults.

At Jabot, Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) will give Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) the good news about his engagement to Summer Newman (Hunter King).

Kyle will insist it’s for keeps this time and will assure Jack that he doesn’t intend to put his life on hold because of all the Ashland Locke (Richard Burgi) drama.

Talk will turn to the rumors that have been swirling about Jabot’s unsafe working conditions and mistreatment of employees – just to name a few! Kyle will point out that this could cause issues with lenders, buyers and distributors if they can’t get a grip on things.

Although Kyle will be certain Ashland is behind this, Jack will want proof. Kyle will argue that the damage may be done by the time proof surfaces.

Meanwhile, Summer will let Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) and Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) know her engagement to Kyle is back on.

Nick will be rooting for Summer’s happiness, but he’ll insist on having a man-to-man chat with Kyle to seek reassurances. Summer won’t be thrilled, but she’ll seem to accept her dad is just being protective.

After Nick leaves to support Faith in court, Phyllis will stop Summer from taking off. Summer will contend that although she wanted to include Phyllis in the engagement updates, this doesn’t change her recent betrayal.

Summer will feel like it’s going to take a while to get over it, but Phyllis will defend herself and insist she’s always going to protect her daughter.

When Phyllis mentions Jack dumping Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope), Summer will admit that’s good news. Back with Nick, he’ll help Sharon give Faith a pep talk before court.

Christine Williams (Lauralee Bell) will arrive and insist she’s willing to answer any questions beforehand. Faith will be nervous, but she’ll promise she’s going to be fine.

Afterward, Nick will be proud of Faith for handling herself like an adult in the courtroom. He’ll think the punishment was fair since Faith got a $500 fine payable in 60 days – plus 100 hours of community service with proof of outpatient treatment for substance abuse.

Sharon will note that this will be expunged from Faith’s record when she turns 17 if she completes her sentence. Faith will be glad to put all this behind her and will promise to earn money for her fine. She’ll dash off to afternoon classes, but there’ll be a little trouble at school.

Faith will be ignored by one student that she tries to say hey to. An angry guy named Wayne will pop up to rant about Faith getting Jordan (Madison Thompson) suspended. Wayne will lash out since Jordan was his lab partner and he needed her notes.

After Wayne calls Faith a loser, Moses Winters (Jacob Aaron Gaines) will appear and dare the bully to say it again.

Moses will think Faith is too classy to resort to name calling, but that’s not how Moses rolls. He’ll mull over which name works best for a “mental jackass” like Wayne: scrub, wuss, idiot, moron…

Moses will guess Wayne must think it’s cool to trash a girl who just got out of the ICU. He’ll push Wayne to “step off,” so Wayne will scowl and scamper away.

Faith will thank Moses, but she’ll insist she doesn’t need him to fight her battles. However, Moses will note that he was just doing Faith a favor. He’ll be certain Faith could’ve made the guy cry if she wanted, so that’ll earn a smile from Faith.

When Jack shows up at The Grand Phoenix, he’ll talk to Phyllis about Summer and Kyle’s engagement as well as Sally. Jack will slip into defending Sally again, so he’ll confess it’s going to be a tough habit to break.

Upstairs in their suite, Kyle will ignore a call as he dashes off to shower with Summer. Once they’re done, Kyle will realize his missed call was from Tara Locke (Elizabeth Leiner).

Tara will quickly call back and ramble about having a big fight with Ashland, who was furious and shouting at the top of his lungs.

Kyle will ask if they were arguing about him, but Tara will have to go and will hang up without confirming it. Even so, Summer will assume this had to have been about Kyle – otherwise, Tara wouldn’t have called him.

Between the Jabot rumors and Tara getting in touch, Kyle will admit he has a very uneasy feeling.

After Victoria summons Rey to Society, she’ll fill him in on her suspicions about Adam being at the Newman ranch. Rey will find out about the scotch clue and take off to grill Victor.

Once Rey arrives, he’ll check out the scotch bottle and point out that hiding a fugitive is a crime. Victor will push Rey to look at Chelsea if he wants justice and will ask if Rey has a search warrant.

Since Rey won’t have one, Victor will chuckle and suggest that’s what he thought. Nevertheless, Rey will argue that Victor just convinced him that his theory is correct. Victor will wonder who put that theory in Rey’s head, so Rey will admit Victoria came to him.

Next, Rey will stop by the penthouse and fill Chelsea in on the tip he got about Adam being at the Newman ranch. He’ll admit there was no sign of Adam or solid info to confirm.

Chelsea will talk about getting a restraining order against Adam before Rey narrows his eyes and seems suspicious. He’ll suggest he’s glad to see Chelsea has recovered to the point that she doesn’t need a nurse.

Rey will comment on how fast Chelsea is improving, but she’ll swing the conversation to how similar their situations are thanks to Adam.

Chelsea will act hopeful that Sharon and Rey can persevere. She’ll insist she’d hate for Rey to end up alone because of Adam’s obsession and will hope Sharon has owned up to her part in all this.

Once Rey makes it back to Sharon’s house, he’ll mention the tip about Adam being on the Newman ranch. After Sharon reacts, Rey will hope that’s surprise in her voice. He’ll assume Adam has probably moved on by now, and Sharon will guess Victor helped.

Sharon will swear she had no idea, so Rey will believe her – though he’ll think she should understand why he’d be suspicious.

Back with Victor, The Young and the Restless spoilers say he’ll summon Victoria for a confrontation at the ranch.

Victor will wonder if Victoria told Rey that Adam was hiding out there. Victoria will spin the question around on Victor and ask if her father is really aiding and abetting.

Victor will rant about how Victoria betrayed him – plain and simple! Victoria will fire back about “precious Adam” trying to kill a police detective, but Victor will stand by his son’s innocence.

Victor will argue that he looks out for all his children, but Victoria will feel like her dad chooses Adam over and over again.

As Victoria and Victor’s argument escalates, Nikki will walk in and try to settle things down. She’ll learn Victoria told Rey her suspicions about Victor harboring Adam.

Nikki will declare that the divisiveness has to stop before it goes too far. Victor will tell Nikki to stay out of it and head into the other room, but Nikki will feel like she’s involved in anything that affects the family.
