The Young and the Restless Spoilers: Friday, October 22 Recap – Deadly Chance Attack, Abby in Denial – Mariah’s Apology

The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers recap for Friday, October 22, reveals that a deadly Chance Chancellor (last played by Donny Boaz) attack will leave Abby Newman-Abbott-Chancellor (Melissa Ordway) in denial. Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes) will also deliver a heartfelt apology, so let’s discuss Friday’s action-packed Y&R episode.

At the Chancellor mansion, Ashley Abbott (Eileen Davidson) will hold Dominic Newman-Abbott-Chancellor and quiz Abby about how she’s really holding up.

Abby will admit it’s been a rough few days and will talk about how unfair this whole Chance situation is for all of them.

Christine Williams (Lauralee Bell) will eventually call with some Chance news, so Abby will be excited about her upcoming visit.

Ashley won’t want Abby to get her hopes up, but Abby will insist she’s only going to think positive thoughts.

After Christine arrives, she’ll explain that the city Chance was transferred to was hit by a bomb in the middle of the night.

The building was leveled and the state department put out a statement fearing there were no survivors. With tears in her eyes, Abby will insist there’s been a mistake.

In their suite, Tessa Porter (Cait Fairbanks) will wake up ready to listen to whatever Mariah has to say.

After doing some soul-searching, Mariah will see that it was wrong to pressure Tessa to have a baby when they’d barely even talked about the possibility of having a kid together.

Mariah will insist it was selfish, misguided and something she’s incredibly sorry for. She’ll assure Tessa that nothing matters more than what they’ve built together, so Tessa will reply that she feels the same way.

Tessa will think she probably should’ve bowed out of the wedding since Mariah needed her.

Tessa will admit she spent most of her time worrying that she’d come home and Mariah would say they were better off apart. After Mariah promises she’d never do that, Tessa will kiss her hand tenderly.

Mariah will get that she needs to properly deal with her trauma instead of making impulsive, unilateral decisions. She’ll mention her Dominic visit and think it was wrong to cut ties completely.

Tessa won’t want Mariah to be too hard on herself since working through things will take time. She’ll be impressed by Mariah and will feel like she’s falling in love all over again.

At Crimson Lights, Sharon Rosales (Sharon Case) will squeal with glee when Noah Newman (Rory Gibson) appears. She’ll give her son a hug as Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) reveals that Noah talked him into a change of plans.

After getting some things from Noah’s flat, they came on back to Genoa City.

Sharon will be glad since it sounds like Noah’s staying for a while and will be eager to hear all about his time in London.

At Society, Noah and Nick will tell Sharon about the wedding before talk turns to Noah’s life. Sharon will feel like Noah’s holding back, but he’ll act like he just doesn’t want to get stuck in a rut and needs a change.

Noah will keep sidestepping questions until Mariah and Tessa walk in. Once Noah goes over to greet them, Nick will fill Sharon in on Victoria Newman-Locke (Amelia Heinle) feeling betrayed over his Ashland Locke (Richard Burgi) digging.

Nick will also want Sharon’s read on Noah, so she’ll admit she thinks something must’ve happened to make him want to leave London.

In the lounge area, Noah will be pleased to see that Mariah’s doing better. He’ll surprise Mariah by claiming he wants to be home and closer to his loved ones.

After Noah mentions Mariah seeming happy with Tessa, he’ll talk about it being one thing to find love and another to hold onto it.

Once Noah steps away, Mariah will assume there’s a story behind all that. A little later, Mariah will suggest giving the teddy bear brought back to Dominic.

Tessa will admit that’s part of the reason she got it, so they’ll decide to head over to the Chancellor mansion and give it to the baby.

In Victoria’s office, she’ll have a ton of work to catch up on with Ashland. Ashland won’t have any regrets about their wedding despite the mountain of merger drama.

Victoria won’t have any regrets either and will want to focus on the future as well as Ashland’s cancer fight.

When Ashland mentions Jesse Gaines (Jamison Jones) and how he can’t let his guard down, Victoria will trust that Victor and Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) neutralized the threat like they said they would.

Victoria will reveal that she’d rather talk about her honeymoon surprise since Ashland is never in a million years going to guess what it is.

At home, Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) will talk to Lily Winters (Christel Khalil) about a couple mysteries. He won’t get why Gaines didn’t follow through on his threat to spread the Ashland story for starters.

Billy also won’t understand why Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) tipped his hand about coming after ChancComm, so Lily will suggest maybe it was about creating a distraction from the Gaines situation.

Billy will think maybe Lily’s onto something and will agree there’s more going on.

Since Gaines had a lifetime of vengeful anger to unleash, Billy won’t believe he backed off willingly. Lily will wonder if Billy’s saying Victor might’ve made Gaines disappear.

Lily won’t think that’s Victor’s style, but Billy will argue that he definitely wouldn’t put it past Adam.

Billy will suggest that if they prove Adam did something to hurt Gaines, they can get justice and stop Newman Media in their tracks. “We become the threat; we become the ones to crush the competition,” Billy will add.

Back at the Chancellor mansion, Christine will admit she’s still waiting for verification from her contacts. She’ll note that even if the reports were accurate, that doesn’t mean Chance was in the building at the time of the attack.

“He wasn’t! He couldn’t have been!” Abby will declare. She’ll argue that she would feel it if Chance were gone and will add that it’s just not possible.

The Young and the Restless spoilers say another round of bad news is brewing for Abby, so keep watching.
