The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers for Friday, September 17, tease that Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes) will drop a bomb at Dominic Newman-Abbott-Chancellor’s christening reception – and Amanda Sinclair (Mishael Morgan) will make a bold move that affects her future with Devon Hamilton (Bryton James).
It’ll be the day of Dominic’s baptism on Friday, so Tessa Porter (Cait Fairbanks) will check in with Mariah and see how she’s holding up.
Mariah will put on a brave face and act like she’s looking forward to the ceremony, but that’ll be far from the case.
It’ll be tough for Mariah since she’ll have to get up in front of everyone as Dominic’s godmother – and that role just isn’t the one she truly wants.
Mariah definitely feels a maternal bond with Dominic, so things will get even harder once the christening begins.
Abby Newman-Abbott-Chancellor (Melissa Ordway) will hold Dominic in her arms and obviously look like the doting mother she is.
Mariah will struggle to choke back the tears as she stands nearby with Devon, who’ll face some difficult emotions of his own as Dominic’s godfather and bio dad.
After the christening wraps up, it’ll be time for the reception. Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) and Ashley Abbott (Eileen Davidson) will both fret over Abby and how she’s really doing without Chance Chancellor (last played by Donny Boaz).
They may fear Abby’s blaming herself for Mariah’s struggles as well and just trying to take on too much overall.
Back with Mariah, she’ll reach a conclusion that’ll break her heart. Nevertheless, Mariah will think it’s the only choice she can make and will drop this bomb on Abby soon after.
Mariah might announce that she’s taking a step back from Dominic and plans to move out of the Chancellor mansion along with Tessa.
It’s even possible Mariah will give up the godmother title since this wound is just so fresh and painful right now.
However, Y&R spoilers say Mariah will change her mind about something during the week of September 20-24, so whatever she decides now won’t necessarily stick!
It’s clear that Mariah is an emotional wreck, so it’s not surprising that her decision-making skills will be all over the place. Mariah will continue to need plenty of support as she tries to cope.
As for Amanda, she’ll make a decision of her own and wonder if Devon would be on board. Amanda will catch Devon off guard with a suggestion, so maybe she’ll bring up the idea of officially living together.
Moses Winters (Jacob Aaron Gaines) is currently staying at the penthouse, so Devon will have to take that into consideration.
Even so, Amanda may hope she can take this crucial step with Devon since the timing feels right.
