The Young and the Restless Spoilers: Friday, September 3 Recap – Adam Rejects Sally – Mariah & Abby's Dominic Battle Escalates

The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers recap for Friday, September 3, reveals that “toxic” Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) will reject Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope) – and Abby Newman-Abbott-Chancellor (Melissa Ordway) will get territorial after Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes) feeds Dominic Newman-Abbott-Chancellor.

At the Newman Media launch party, Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) will seek answers from wet Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford), but she’ll dash off to get ready for the launch presentation.

When Nick asks Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) instead, Jack will simply suggest it’s best to keep Phyllis and Sally away from each other for the rest of the night – or maybe for the rest of their lives!

In a suite, Adam will pull back and wonder where that kiss came from. Sally will ask if they need to question it or if they should just follow their impulse and see where it leads.

After Adam suggests this is a massively bad idea, Sally will hint that it might actually be an enticingly good one.

Adam will admit it’s both, but he’ll think the bad outweighs the good because of one very important reason. “I am toxic,” Adam will declare.

Sally will think that’s the most original rejection she’s ever heard, but Adam will insist it’s true and that it’s no reflection on her.

After Sally decides she won’t argue with Adam, she’ll contend that it’s a “damn shame though” since they could’ve been pretty spectacular.

Adam will note that at least this way, they can stay spectacular locked away in their imaginations.

Down in the lobby, Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) will tell Lily Winters (Christel Khalil) they should launch themselves out of this dud of a party.

However, Lily will hint about something she has in store for Billy – something he can’t indulge in if he dies of boredom!

At the Chancellor mansion, Abby will voice her concerns to Tessa Porter (Cait Fairbanks) about Mariah’s emotional scars.

Tessa will plan to talk to Sharon Rosales (Sharon Case) about treatment, but she’ll hope all Mariah really needs is time.

In her hospital room, Mariah will have another nightmare before jolting up. “Let us out! My baby needs to live!” Mariah will shout as she awakens.

When the nurse comes in and reveals that Dominic needs feeding, Mariah will mention that she pumped her milk into a bottle. She’ll ask if it’d be OK if she fed Dominic, so the nurse will allow it.

Once Mariah’s holding Dominic, she’ll talk about how he kept her sane while they were in captivity. Mariah will suggest it feels so natural holding the baby and will want to tell him a secret.

Although Mariah will wish she could breastfeed Dominic, she’ll confess that she can’t since it’s in the surrogacy contract.

However, Mariah will mention that Dominic’s getting her milk. She’ll insist he’ll always be her “sweet, precious little Bowie” just before Tessa and Abby come around the corner.

Abby will immediately sport an uneasy expression, but she’ll try to hide her discomfort as Mariah explains Dominic was hungry.

Abby will suggest she could take over feeding, but Mariah will hold up the empty bottle and apologize since Dominic will already be finished. Since Abby will assume Dominic needs to be burped, she’ll insist she can do it.

After Abby takes Dominic in her arms and talks about how Mommy’s there, Mariah will look upset – and Tessa will notice.

Back at the launch party, Victor will corner Phyllis to scold her over the confrontation with Sally and warn her to behave from now on.

Victor will push Phyllis to just let him deal with Sally, but Phyllis will think Victor should deal with Adam while he’s at it.

As for Nate Hastings (Sean Dominic), he’ll be hyping Elena Dawson’s (Brytni Sarpy) new Ask MD Now job to Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) when Victor walks over.

Victor will be sorry to hear that news since Adam was planning to offer Elena the position of Chief Medical Journalist for Newman Media.

Although Elena will admit she hasn’t signed the contract at ChancComm yet, she’ll intend to keep her word and stick with the previous offer. Victor will once again be sorry to hear that, but he’ll admire Elena’s loyalty.

Nate will praise Elena’s loyalty as well and will eventually take her home to end the night on a steamy note.

Next, Victor will scold Adam about how his “girlfriend or date for the night” almost ruined the party.

Adam will downplay the drama since scandals can be good for business, but Victor will only want headlines about their successful debut.

In the ballroom, Adam will make an impressive speech about power and the strength of family being the key to Newman Media’s success.

Billy will skip the speech in favor of having scotch at the bar and let Lily take the lead on seeing what she can find out from it.

Lily will report back about Adam wanting to expand their business with more talent and outlets. She’ll note that Victor didn’t seem pleased about adding more entities, so Billy will sense that the father and son aren’t on the same page.

After Lily pulls out a room keycard, she’ll reveal that she’s feeling sentimental and booked Billy’s old suite.

Lily will note that it’s where they first made love and where it all began for them, so Billy will happily escort her up to have yet another steamy session.

As for Nick, he’ll push Phyllis until she comes clean about the ice bucket ordeal.

Phyllis won’t regret it because she enjoyed seeing Sally as a waterlogged mess. Since Sally isn’t going anywhere, Nick will urge Phyllis to stop kicking the hornet’s nest.

Phyllis will eventually return the handkerchief that Jack dried her off with – and Nick will glare at the exes sharing a warm moment.

Once Nick and Phyllis head to a suite, he’ll assure her it was a “no harm, no foul” situation with Sally tonight. They’ll move past the incident and get ready to hit the sheets as usual.

Meanwhile, Jack will pour a drink for himself at home and smile as he takes the handkerchief out of his pocket. After Victor trades barbs with Billy, he’ll head back to the ranch with Nikki.

Although Nikki will think they need to keep an eye on Sally, Victor will admit he kind of enjoyed the ice bucket fiasco. Nikki will confess that she did too as they share a laugh.

At Society on Friday’s Y&R episode, Sally and Adam will have drinks at the bar. She’ll once again express her gratitude since Adam was so understanding about the party drama.

Sally will bring up Victor’s death glare, but Adam won’t think there’s any need to worry about his father.

After Sally praises Adam’s speech, she’ll decide she’d better go since it’s getting late. “In case you were wondering, the answer is yes,” Sally will say as she gets up to leave.

Sally will quickly explain to confused Adam that despite his warning, there’s a good chance she’ll be dreaming of the spectacular things that might’ve been tonight. Sally will then saunter out and leave Adam to ponder that.

The Young and the Restless spoilers say Sally won’t give up on drawing Adam closer, so keep watching!
