The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers tease that Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) may put some wedding pressure on Lily Winters (Christel Khalil), who he’ll want as a stepmom for his kids. Johnny Abbott (Holden and Ryan Hare) will make a blunder while staying over at Lily and Billy’s new place, so that could lead to Billy’s push for marriage.
Lily was thrilled to move in with Billy and start building a real life together. This was a big step, but Lily was all in and seems to be loving the arrangement so far. Lily has already formed a bond with Johnny and Katie Abbott (Sienna Mercuri), who think of her as their daddy’s “cool girlfriend.”
However, Johnny will make a wrong assumption now that Billy’s living with Lily. He’ll wonder if this means Lily has been upgraded to wife status, so that’ll bring some awkward moments.
Kids will be kids, so Billy and Lily should be able to handle it without any issues. They can just let Johnny know Lily is still Daddy’s girlfriend and that’ll be that – at least for Johnny.
It’s Billy and Lily who may be most affected by the confusion since they’ll have to start thinking about what’s next. Once Johnny puts this wife idea in Billy’s head, it could become hard for him to shake.
Y&R spoilers have been hinting that Lily and Billy will have very different ideas on their future. There are going to be some disagreements about how far this relationship can really go.
That probably means one of them will be on board with marriage while the other won’t. Considering how smitten Billy is, it makes sense for him to want a wedding eventually.
Billy pushed hard for marriage to Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle), who rejected the idea and negotiated him down to a commitment ceremony.
With Lily, Billy may be hopeful that they can have some real nuptials and make things official when the time is right. Unfortunately, that may not be something Lily’s into since she went through a difficult divorce from Cane Ashby (Daniel Goddard).
Lily may not ever want to get married again, so that could leave Billy and Lily at odds on this important part of their future.
Naturally, Billy could accept that’s how it has to be – or perhaps Lily could change her mind sooner or later.
This doesn’t have to be a dealbreaker if Lily and Billy are willing to move past this hurdle as a couple. Regardless, we could see some conflict as Billy and Lily navigate their next chapter.
