The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers tease that Lola Rosales (Sasha Calle) and Nate Hastings (Sean Dominic) are growing closer, so we have to consider just how close they might get.
Y&R fans know Nate and Lola have developed a nice friendship. Nate helped save Lola during her liver crisis – and the doc recently solved Rey Rosales’ (Jordi Vilasuso) poison mystery in the nick of time.
Lola has also had several bonding scenes with Nate recently, so it feels like something is brewing here. After Lola’s attempt to play matchmaker failed, she was apologetic and insisted it wouldn’t happen again unless it was something Nate wanted.
Lola now seems to understand that Nate fully intends to move on from Elena Dawson (Brytni Sarpy).
Nate opened up to Lola about how he wanted a relationship free of drama. He’s looking for trust and honesty, so Lola can certainly relate to Nate. Lola had her fair share of drama through her failed marriage to Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor).
Since Kyle wasn’t honest with Lola or even himself about his lingering love for Summer Newman (Hunter King), it ultimately led to a painful divorce.
Neither Nate nor Lola is looking for a relationship right now, but that’s often when strong feelings emerge anyway on a soap. The Young and the Restless spoilers suggest this could complicate things in a big way since Elena is Lola’s roommate and close friend.
Lola will surely be breaking some sort of girl code if she swoops in and takes Nate for herself!
Of course, we can’t ignore the fact that Sasha Calle scored another major role as Supergirl in the DC Universe. Calle is all set to play Supergirl in The Flash film and most likely other related productions, so it’s tough to imagine how Calle could stick around at The Young and the Restless full-time.
It’s possible this Nate situation could be used as a Y&R exit strategy for Lola under the circumstances. Lola might fall into bed with Nate and leave Elena feeling betrayed. It could make things weird for all parties involved and leave Lola wanting a fresh start.
That’s especially true if some new opportunity arises – like another chance to make her restaurant dream a reality in Miami. Regardless, The Young and the Restless writers are clearly pushing Lola and Nate together.
Whether that turns into something or not, the possibility of Nate and Lola hooking up is right there for the taking.
