The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers for Monday, August 2, tease that Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) will suspect Sally Spectra’s (Courtney Hope) cover-up while Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) demands answers from Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford). Ashland Locke (Richard Burgi) will also decide his future with a little help from Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle), so let’s discuss what’s ahead.
Y&R fans know Jack broke things off with Sally after she got busted. As if the security video wasn’t suspicious enough, Sally lied that she never saw the text – and Jack proved her wrong on the spot through the video.
Of course, Sally had a million excuses and tried to convince Jack this was all Phyllis’ fault.
Although Sally felt pretty hopeless after Jack dumped her, she’ll apparently find some optimism again.
If there’s one thing we know about Sally, it’s that she’s no quitter! Sally will hide her trail and hope she can somehow salvage Jack’s positive view of her – or what’s left of it anyway.
Even if Sally only has a sliver of hope, she should cling to it and try to believe she still has a shot with Jack.
However, Jack has finally opened his eyes to Sally as a schemer who just can’t help herself. He can’t trust Sally and will no doubt suspect a cover-up is underway.
Sally seems to be digging a deeper hole for herself – one that may be impossible to climb out of after Phyllis’ next move.
Nick will grill Phyllis about the fishing expedition she’s set to go on.
This will involve Phyllis inviting herself to Eric Forrester’s (John McCook) meeting with Angelina Marchetti (Cristina Serafina) in Los Angeles.
Thanks to a phone call with Angelina on the Friday, July 30 episode, Phyllis will know Eric recommended Summer Newman (Hunter King) for the position in Milan.
Phyllis will resolve to take Sally down for putting Eric up to this, so Nick should hear about Phyllis’ urgent plan on Monday, August 2.
In the meantime, Ashland Locke (Richard Burgi) will make a significant choice that’ll affect his future.
Victoria will be part of the decision-making process, so this could tie in with Ashland’s new treatment and perhaps a wedding based on the new weekly preview.
Ashland mentions honeymoon plans in the latest promo for the week of August 2-6, so marriage may be something that’s on his mind as well as Victoria’s.
Regardless, Victoria and Ashland’s romance may be built on a foundation of lies if Ashland isn’t sick at all.
This still feels like a giant mind game, so Victoria could be headed for heartbreak.
