The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers for Monday, August 9, tease that Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) will get a sapphire ring before her Ashland Locke (Richard Burgi) engagement news starts to spread. Summer Newman (Hunter King) will also make a tough choice and surprise some of her loved ones in the process, so here’s what to expect in Monday’s Y&R episode.
For starters, Victoria will be on cloud nine over the sapphire engagement ring Ashland offers. Although this is happening fast, Victoria will have no regrets – especially once Ashland is gushing over how the ring matches her eyes.
Ashland knows how to charm Victoria and draw her closer, so she’ll be excited about their future together.
Victoria realizes that future should be short-lived, but the whole point of this speedy engagement is to live life to the fullest and make sure they enjoy every moment.
Of course, concerns remain about Ashland and the games he might be playing, but Victoria will be enamored with the idea of their impending marriage for now. It’ll be interesting to see if this wedding turns into a major blowup down the road!
Victoria is secure in her decision to marry Ashland, but she’ll still be hesitant to come clean about the engagement at first.
Victoria will fear Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) and Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) are going to have a negative reaction, but she’ll actually get some support once she finally drops the bomb.
Victor in particular will catch Victoria off guard by congratulating her, so she’ll be glad to know this won’t spark another round of clashing.
Although Victor will trust Victoria to handle herself on some level, he’ll grow more suspicious of Ashland and will offer a warning later during the week of August 9-13.
Until then, Summer will make a difficult choice that leaves Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) taken aback, but it should be Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) and Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) who are most surprised.
Phyllis is convinced that her daughter’s coming home soon, but Summer may opt to stay in Milan since she’s committed to this job at Marchetti.
As for Amanda Sinclair (Mishael Morgan), she’ll have another conversation with Naya Benedict (Ptosha Storey) and will clarify her stance on a situation.
Amanda may explain to Naya that vindictiveness isn’t the reason she wants Sutton Ames (Jack Landron) to pay. This is about justice for Amanda’s dead father, who was robbed of a chance to know, love and raise her.
Naya and Amanda’s relationship has already been starting to heal, so hopefully they can build on their progress. We’ll bring you updates as other Y&R details come in.
