The Young and the Restless Spoilers: Monday, December 20 Recap – Victor Warns Chance - Jack Explodes at Billy's Gamble

The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers for Monday, December 20, reveals that Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) will explode over Billy Abbott’s (Jason Thompson) dangerous plan while Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) warns Chance Chancellor (Conner Floyd) about his career choice. Here’s what Y&R has in store on Monday’s exciting episode.

At Newman Media, Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) will mention the awkwardness of spending time at the penthouse with Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan), but he’ll think she’s focused on a new chapter now.

Adam will tell Victor that Chelsea met Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope) before talk turns to the spy feeding them information.

Adam will mention that he confronted the person he believes is responsible, though that person would neither confirm nor deny they sent the info. He’ll admit his suspect tossed the phrase “plausible deniability” around and will think the desire to help is genuine.

Adam will feel like the point is Billy is unraveling and won’t see why they should show any mercy if they have an opportunity to discredit him.

Victor will decide he’s on board, but he’ll warn that they need to proceed with caution and will push Adam to keep him in the loop.

At home, Jack will show up at Billy’s request and wonder what’s going on.

Lily Winters (Christel Khalil) will be by Billy’s side as he explains his goal: to expose Newman Media for the double-dealing backstabbers that they are – or more specifically, trick Adam and Victor into exposing themselves.

Billy will argue that Victor and Adam won’t be able to resist sharing the story of “The Tragic Demise of Billy Abbott.” He’ll contend that the Newmans will eat it up with a spoon before he turns the tables and sues them.

Jack will flip out over Billy’s plan to pretend he’s falling apart, especially when Billy admits he’ll be visiting some old haunts and former friends.

Jack will realize Billy means people like bookies, gamblers and loan sharks. He’ll rant about Lily supporting this crazy idea and won’t know if Billy can pull it off.

Jack will get fed up over Billy’s obsessive need to hurt the Newmans and will want no part of this. When Lily hopes they can at least count on Jack to keep quiet, he’ll wonder why he should.

Billy will make it clear that if Jack ruins his chance to rebuild his reputation, he’ll never trust him with anything ever again.

Jack will admit Billy’s certainty scares him. He’ll want to be wrong, but he’ll feel like it’s the same irrational overconfidence that’s always been at the root of his downfall.

After Jack storms out, Billy will admit to Lily that he’s having some second thoughts. He’ll still believe the plan will work, but he won’t want to come across as a completely selfish jerk.

Billy will get that this is going to affect Lily and her family, too. He’ll worry about people acting like Lily’s in denial or enabling him and will be willing to drop this if she wants.

Lily will know Billy can’t rest until he repairs his damaged reputation and will be willing to support him on this.

After Lily and Billy get dressed up, Billy will suggest it’s time to take the next step. He’ll mention going to the place where everyone who knows his history expects him to go.

At Crimson Lights, Elena Dawson (Brytni Sarpy) will have an answer about living with Nate Hastings (Sean Dominic), but she’ll have a confession to make first.

Elena will share some of her quirks – like not liking the smell of food cooking in the morning and not wanting to share closets.

Nate will reciprocate by mentioning his massive baseball collection and penchant for wearing avocado masks.

Nate will wonder if a couple of goofballs like them can make it work living together, so Elena will decide they’re going to find out since her answer is yes.

At The Grand Phoenix, Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) will show up with a custom gift for Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) that he got before they broke up and couldn’t send back.

Phyllis will admit she found herself in a similar situation and will invite Nick up to her suite to see his present.

Once they make it up to Phyllis’ room, she’ll open Nick’s engraved locket and find his picture along with Summer Newman-Abbott’s (Hunter King). Nick will open his own present and find a cologne that’s customized just for him.

Phyllis and Nick will share an emotional moment as they hope they never lose their connection and ability to “get” each other.

After Nick and Phyllis are back down in the lobby, Jack will appear. He’ll agree to a group video chat with Harrison Locke (Kellen Enriquez) before Nick takes off – looking back in Jack and Phyllis’ direction as he goes.

Jack will let Phyllis know he’s glad to see her on better terms with Nick, but she’ll quickly pick up on the fact that something’s wrong.

As Jack worries Billy is about to make the same series of mistakes, Adam will walk over and suggest he didn’t mean to eavesdrop.

Although Adam will deny meaning to push Billy over the edge, Jack won’t be interested in hearing his excuses. He’ll call Adam out over the trap and argue that this was revenge – plain and simple.

Adam won’t think he owes Jack an explanation, so he’ll stomp off. That’ll leave Jack to tell Phyllis about Adam and Billy’s “constant, endless warfare.”

At Society, Amanda Sinclair (Mishael Morgan) and Devon Hamilton (Bryton James) will run into Chance and Abby Newman-Abbott-Chancellor (Melissa Ordway).

Abby will convince Devon and Amanda to join them by offering to show off new pictures of Dominic Newman-Abbott-Chancellor.

The gang will also discuss Chance watching Abby’s video diary before he admits he has a lot of lost time to make up for. However, Devon will argue that there are plenty of other upcoming milestones.

Abby will agree and suggest she won’t be surprised if Dominic’s first word is “Dada,” so Devon will have to cover his disappointment.

Talk will turn to all the tricks they’ve learned when it comes to comforting Dominic, so Devon will mention something he found in a parenting group online.

Amanda will notice that Chance is gazing down and seems rather detached from the whole conversation.

Soon after, Chance will seem eager to get home, but he’ll thank Devon again for everything before taking off with Abby. Once Devon and Amanda are alone, Nate and Elena will approach their table with the news that they’ve decided to live together.

The four of them will share Champagne before talk turns to Chance and how he’s still trying to adjust to being back home.

At the Chancellor mansion, Abby will cuddle with Chance on the sofa and hope it was OK that she invited Devon as well as Amanda to join them.

Abby will comment on Chance seeming quiet, so he’ll acknowledge that he hasn’t spent as much time with Dominic as everyone else.

Abby will assure Chance that he’ll make his own memories and have his own stories soon enough. Once Victor arrives, Abby will welcome him in before dashing off to crying Dominic upstairs.

Victor will check in with Chance and wonder what his plans are now, so Chance will admit his spot at the GCPD is waiting for him once he’s ready.

Victor will then note that being a cop is dangerous business and won’t think it’d be fair to make Abby go through an ordeal like the one she’s already been through.

At the penthouse, Amanda will sense that Devon’s missing Dominic and will wonder if he’s thought about asking for some one-on-one time.

Devon will be wary of overstepping, especially considering everything Chance is dealing with. Nevertheless, Amanda will argue that Devon won’t know unless he asks.

The Young and the Restless spoilers say Devon and Dominic’s bond is going to become a bigger issue for Chance as time goes on.
