The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers update for Monday, September 27, teases that Mariah Copeland’s (Camryn Grimes) baby bubble will burst while Ashland Locke (Richard Burgi) gets a shocking wedding gift. Let’s talk about what Y&R has in store.
At Newman Enterprises, Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) will be upset with Ashland Locke (Richard Burgi) for being deliberately vague about a phone call. She’ll push Ashland to stop keeping secrets, but Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) will show up before Ashland has to reveal anything more.
Ashland will act like it’s no big deal and take off, but Victoria will have lingering concerns. She’ll voice her frustration to Nikki since Ashland still doesn’t trust her enough to tell her everything.
As for Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson), he’ll discover that Jesse Gaines (Jamison Jones) checked out of his hotel room rather abruptly.
Billy will also spot Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) in The Grand Phoenix lobby, so it won’t take him long to assume Victor had a hand in the Gaines situation.
Later, Ashland will stop by the hotel and bump into Billy, who’ll warn that Gaines is already gone. Victor will act like Ashland’s there for a meeting with him, but Billy clearly won’t buy it.
After Victor decides they’ll take this back to the ranch for privacy’s sake, Billy will suggest Ashland must have fond memories of having his heart attack there while Victor watched.
Victor will insult Billy before leaving with Ashland – and soon enough, the men will discuss Gaines over drinks at the ranch.
Ashland will initially act like the guy was just some old acquaintance that he recently reconnected with. However, Victor will get Ashland to stop the BS by revealing what he knows. He’ll bring up the $300,000 yearly payments that Ashland has been making for decades and catch Ashland off guard.
Ashland will get another surprise when Victor declares that he took care of it. He’ll explain that he let Gaines choose whether he wanted to land in prison for blackmail or accept his generous offer instead.
Ashland will worry since Gaines isn’t trustworthy and could come back for more, but Victor will contend that he’s going to keep an eye on him.
Victor will suggest that Ashland can call this a wedding present, but he’ll want him to know this was done out of love for Victoria. Ashland will be curious what Gaines said about their history, but Victor will argue that he didn’t care about that and is willing to let the past stay buried.
All Victor will care about is ensuring Victoria’s happiness moving forward. He’ll warn Ashland that he could undo what he just did, but Ashland will vow to make Victoria just as happy as she’s made him. As long as Ashland keeps his word on that, Victor won’t think they’ll have any problems.
Next, Billy will pester Victoria about Gaines at Crimson Lights. Victoria won’t care who Gaines is and will just want Billy to butt out for good. Tessa Porter (Cait Fairbanks) will pay a visit to the coffeehouse as well since she’ll need Sharon Rosales’ (Sharon Case) guidance.
Sharon will find out Mariah is trying to fill the Dominic Newman-Abbott-Chancellor void by pushing Tessa to have a baby of their own.
Tessa won’t feel certain she’s ready for that and won’t think Mariah’s current desire for a baby is healthy. Sharon will be on the same page and won’t think Tessa should let Mariah get her hopes up. The longer Tessa lets the fantasy go on, the worse it’ll hurt when she tears it down.
Tessa will get choked up over snatching this lifeline away from Mariah, but she’ll know it has to be done. Although Tessa will certainly be open to having a family someday, someday isn’t right now.
After Mariah sees a note explaining that Tessa went out, she’ll unpack a bag and find a baby bib. Mariah will struggle as she thinks back to moments like giving birth and feeding Dominic.
Devon will check on Mariah and admit that Abby Newman-Abbott-Chancellor (Melissa Ordway) has been worried, too.
However, Mariah will hint that she has hope since she’s worked out a plan with Tessa. She won’t want to get into the details, but she’ll think she’s on the right track and will urge Devon to give Abby positive updates.
Since Sharon will need a distraction from Mariah’s troubles, Rey Rosales (Jordi Vilasuso) will treat his wife to a special date night. He’ll wear a shirt he bought on their honeymoon in Miami – and Sharon will recognize a song they danced to on the last night of their trip.
Rey will also deliver a menu that’s designed to evoke honeymoon memories. He’ll even offer a perfume that’s inspired by the botanical garden they visited, so Sharon will vow to wear nothing but that perfume at home later!
Back with Tessa, she’ll talk to Mariah about picking up their mail – which includes a Tuscan wedding invitation. Mariah will joke about pretending it’s a real invite and not just a courtesy move since Tessa’s going to sing.
Tessa will think the trip’s going to do them some good, but Mariah will act like it’ll be a chance to cut loose before settling down with a family.
That’ll lead to Tessa breaking the news that she’s just not ready for that step. Tessa will think they need more serious discussions and won’t want to rush something so important.
Mariah’s face will fall slightly as she accepts Tessa’s side of all this. She’ll acknowledge that she got swept up in the idea of having their own child to raise.
When Devon visits Abby at home, she’ll be groggy from late nights with Dominic. Abby will be overjoyed to hear Amanda Sinclair (Mishael Morgan) is moving in with Devon, but they’ll have to cut their discussion short due to Dominic’s crying.
Since Abby could use a nap, Devon will offer to take Dominic out for a stroll. He’ll settle the baby down before heading to Chancellor Park with him.
Devon will marvel over Dominic being connected to four major families in town and will think he’s one lucky little dude.
