The Young and the Restless Spoilers: Nick & Sharon Reunite, Stop Settling for Phyllis & Rey – Exes Recapture Old Fire & Magic?

The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers tease that Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) and Sharon Rosales (Sharon Case) could reunite and stop settling for Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) and Rey Rosales (Jordi Vilasuo). Sharon and Nick have a rich history, so could these exes recapture their old fire and magic?

Y&R fans know Rey stood by Sharon through what was perhaps the most difficult time of her life. Rey was right by Sharon’s side as she battled cancer, so she’ll be forever grateful for that.

However, Sharon’s life with Rey doesn’t have much sizzle these days. It’s easy and comfortable – just as Nick suggested after she referred to his relationship with Phyllis in the same way.

Of course, Sharon will always be drawn to Adam Newman (Mark Grossman), but she clearly liked the bad boy in him. Now that Adam’s on a better path, there’s not as much fire going on there either.

Besides, Adam has enough on his plate with Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope) as a new love interest and Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan) as a potentially obsessed old one.

It’s Nick who won’t have a leading lady if Phyllis and Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) reunite like the show’s been teasing.

Nick and Phyllis’ relationship was built on satisfying each other in the bedroom, so that’s probably why it feels unsustainable now. If steaminess is all they have, it’s no wonder it’s too easy and comfortable.

Nick doesn’t want to fight with Phyllis anymore, so he just lets her do what she wants and rolls with it. The fact that Nick’s become apathetic in that way isn’t a good sign.

Maybe Nick and Sharon could be the “just right” Goldilocks balance for each other. Nick may not be the bad boy Adam used to be, but he’s not quite Dudley Do-Right like Rey.

The show just highlighted how Nick understands Sharon’s inability to fully shake Adam where Rey doesn’t really. That was a great way to highlight the difference between Nick and Rey since they’re both nice guys.

As for Nick, perhaps he could be drawn to Sharon again as someone who offers depth in addition to passion. It’s an added layer beyond what Phyllis brings to the table right now.

Sharon and Nick’s romance always seems to come back around, no matter how many times they try to fight it.

There’s an intense connection and some hot chemistry between them when they let it come out.

When Nick helped Sharon close up the coffeehouse on the September 9 episode, they were both deep in thought about their earlier conversation.

The vibe made it feel like “Shick” could be revisited if that’s how Y&R writers want to take things.

There’s no denying that Sharon and Nick have been a popular couple for the show over the years.

Could it be time to give Nick and Sharon another chance? Are Sharon and Nick the endgame pairing to root for? As other news rolls in, we’ll pass along updates.

The Young and the Restless spoilers say some romantic surprises are looming this fall, so stay tuned to see some partner swaps and shockers.
