After Ashland confesses that he came into his early fortune illegally, Victoria will have a tough choice to make.
It looks like Ashland’s admission will involve the shady details of how he acquired Camilla Rhodes’ inheritance, so Victoria will reel over the damage this could do.
Of course, Victoria will also know she’s built the ceremony up to be a grand event that everyone will be talking about.
It’s a major destination wedding featuring a powercouple – two serious tycoons who just merged their companies and are tying the knot despite Ashland’s terminal illness.
If the nuptials don’t happen at this point, it’s going to stir up controversy and lead reporters to dig for answers. The best thing Victoria can do from a business standpoint is just go ahead and walk down the aisle.
That way everyone will focus on celebrating Victoria and Ashland’s marriage instead of looking into why it didn’t pan out.
However, Nikki will eventually get updates on Ashland’s empire having criminal origins. She’ll get that Victoria’s really had enough when it comes to Ashland and all his lies.
This is a huge secret that Ashland should’ve divulged before he asked Victoria to marry him and before they merged Newman Enterprises with Locke Communications. Group.
Even so, Victoria will insist she’s going to act like everything’s fine as she heads to the altar.
Nikki won’t want to draw unnecessary attention, but she won’t think Victoria should sign up for a marriage she doesn’t want because of the Newman-Locke merger.
Since Victoria won’t budge, Nikki will take her concerns to Ashland and plead with him instead. She’ll likely chew Ashland out first and then urge him to prove his love.
If Ashland truly cares about Victoria, Nikki will think he should cancel the wedding and take the burden off Victoria.
Naturally, Ashland might argue that this is a matter between the bride and groom.
Ashland may act like he can smooth things over on a personal level with Victoria after the wedding, but Nikki will worry this is going to end in disaster.
