The Young and the Restless spoilers recap for Friday, January 15, tease that Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope) will meet with Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) at Crimson Lights, and she’ll express some anxiety about the fact that Summer Newman (Hunter King) and Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) are in Los Angeles meeting with Spencer Publications.
Jack will wonder why that makes Sally uncomfortable. Sally will say that there’s something Jack should know – she left Los Angeles because of some painful things, and people back in Los Angeles may not have glowing things to say about her.
Jack will ask how bad the stories about Sally are, and just then Lauren Baldwin (Tracey E. Bregman) will enter saying she wants to talk with Sally and Jack.
Lauren will say that Fenmore’s happened to acquire Jabot’s clothing line when it acquired JCV, and that she wants Sally to design some marketing strategies for the line. Sally will get excited and race off to start work on the new job. Lauren will tell Jack that she hopes this will get Sally’s mind off of JCV and Summer for good.
In Los Angeles, Summer and Kyle will meet Wyatt Spencer (Darin Brooks) at Il Giardino, an Italian restaurant frequented by the Forresters and the Spencers. Kyle will take off, and Summer will sit down with Wyatt and float her idea for a JCV promo in Spencer Publications’ outlets.
Wyatt will love the idea, and he’ll say that he’ll meet with his father to arrange a meeting.
Summer will then say that Sally says hi, and Wyatt will have a weird reaction. Wyatt will be surprised to hear that Sally’s working as an executive assistant, but he won’t offer any telling information about his ex. After Wyatt goes, Kyle will return, and Summer will say that Sally’s definitely hiding a juicy secret.
Soon, Wyatt will call Summer to say that he just spoke with his dad, and they’re going to have a meeting about promoting JCV. Summer will hope that she didn’t open old wounds by mentioning Sally, and Wyatt will brush the whole thing off.
Kyle and Summer will decide to hit the beach and a taco stand that Wyatt recommended.
At Society, Abby Newman-Abbott-Chancellor (Melissa Ordway) will talk with Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes), who will notice that Abby’s glum.
Abby will open up about her procedure tomorrow to explore the scarring from her miscarriage, and Mariah will get Tessa Porter (Cait Fairbanks) there in short order to help cheer Abby up.
Mariah and Tessa will lure Abby into dancing, and then Lola Rosales (Sasha Calle) will contribute some chocolate dessert to the party. Abby will feel better and she’ll head home, leaving Mariah, Tessa, and Lola to talk.
After some talk about whether each of them want to have kids, Lola will head back to the kitchen and Tessa and Mariah will continue to enjoy their evening.
Abby will head home to the Chancellor mansion, where she’ll find a bunch of red roses waiting for her along with a nice card from Chance, who will explain that he’s running late at work.
Abby will imagine bringing her newborn baby home from the hospital, and she’ll feel hopeful about the procedure tomorrow.
At the Grand Phoenix, Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) will arrive for a meeting with a headhunter, and she and Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) will bicker in usual form.
Phyllis will wonder if Victoria’s trying to replace the CFO in Los Angeles who was embezzling funds from Newman Enterprises. Victoria will be shocked that Phyllis knows this.
Phyllis will gloat that she knows this information, but she’ll say that she’s not going to act on the information in any way. Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) will appear and overhear the tail end of Victoria and Phyllis’ argument, and he’ll press Phyllis for information on what just went down. P
hyllis will tell Nick that she found out something damaging about Victoria but didn’t use it.
Nick will figure out that this is what Phyllis and Kevin Fisher (Greg Rikaart) were putting their heads together about the other day, and Phyllis will confirm it. Nick will feel like he would have enjoyed watching Victoria get blackmailed, but ultimately he’ll be proud of Phyllis for taking the high road.
At Sharon Rosales’ (Sharon Case) house, Faith Newman (Alyvia Alyn Lind) will text with her friend Jordan (Madison Thompson). Faith will tell Jordan that the need to be careful because Sharon and Nick know that she was with Jordan both times she was caught drinking.
Later, Faith will call Jordan and assure her that she’ll find a way for them to see each other.
