The Young and the Restless Spoilers: Thursday, August 12 Recap – Ashland’s Treatment Side Effects – Stitch’s Job Lie Discovered

The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers recap for Thursday, August 12, reveals that Ashland Locke (Richard Burgi) will seemingly show signs of side effects after his first treatment – and Ben “Stitch” Rayburn’s (Sean Carrigan) job lie will be discovered, though Devon Hamilton (Bryton James) will mostly just be confused for now.

At Crimson Lights on Thursday’s Y&R episode, Devon will find Elena Dawson (Brytni Sarpy) getting her caffeine fix after two exhausting shifts at the hospital.

Elena will admit Nate Hastings (Sean Dominic) is practically working at Memorial these days thanks to his new promotion, but that’ll be the first Devon has heard about it.

When Devon asks about Nate’s new position, Elena will reveal that he’s the chief of surgery.

The news will battle Devon since he thought Stitch was offered that job. Elena will think Devon must’ve misunderstood, so they’ll shift gears and talk about how Nate is Elena’s boss now.

Elena hadn’t really thought about it that way, so she’ll suddenly seem uneasy. However, Devon will feel like Nate and Elena have been through so much already. He won’t think Elena and Nate would let something like this get in the way of their relationship.

At the penthouse, Moses Winters (Jacob Aaron Gaines) will confess to Nate that seeing the reality of being a doctor made him realize it wasn’t for him.

Moses will be apologetic about wasting Nate’s time, but Nate will think it was a valuable experience that’ll allow Moses to move forward and create a new plan.

When Devon comes home, he’ll find out Moses is indeed interested in potentially pursuing a career in the music industry.

Devon will offer to set Moses up with an internship and will offer advice along with Nate about finding his passion.

At The Grand Phoenix, Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) will thank Amanda Sinclair (Mishael Morgan) for her help in cracking the case involving Tara Locke (Elizabeth Leiner) and Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope).

Amanda will reflect on how things played out with Sutton Ames (Jack Landron) as well, so Phyllis will propose a toast to saving the world from selfish, manipulative people one person at a time.

After Phyllis mentions that Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) joined in her meddling, Amanda will reveal that Devon told her he’s in love with her.

Phyllis will be thrilled to hear things are going so well for Amanda and will insist that she deserves it.

In the park, Nick will bump into Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) and see how he’s holding up. Jack will acknowledge the difficult situation involving Kyle Abbott’s (Michael Move) move to Milan.

As for Sally, Jack will be glad Phyllis saw that train wreck coming from a mile away and stopped him from getting too invested.

After Jack says Phyllis perhaps knows him better than anyone, Nick will offer Phyllis updates on that comment privately.

Phyllis will suggest it’s not a competition and will note that she knows Nick well just like he knows her well.

When talk turns to Summer, Phyllis will note that she’s her only daughter. She’ll add that Summer has the ability to break her heart, but Nick will think Phyllis is lucky that he’s around to heal it.

At home, Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) will remind Ashland about staying hydrated for his treatment.

Victoria will mention that she stocked up on ginger candies and tea in case of nausea, but Ashland won’t think there’s any need to fuss over him.

Victoria will want to go with Ashland, but he’ll insist he’s just going to be sitting in a chair with a needle in his arm for who knows how long.

Victoria will at least want to drop Ashland off and pick him up, so he’ll agree to that. As for their “personal merger,” Victoria will want to share the news with a few people.

At Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) and Lily Winters (Christel Khalil) place, they’ll discuss all the drama surrounding Tara’s arrest and how this story will drive lots of traffic to the site.

After Victoria arrives and reveals her engagement news, Billy will wonder if she’s sure about this. Victoria will indeed be sure – and Lily will pipe up about how Billy said Victoria met her match in Ashland.

Victoria will also talk about the cutting-edge protocol Ashland’s beginning today. Lily will think this engagement has given Ashland more will to live, so she’ll be optimistic.

Billy will still seem concerned, but Victoria will appreciate the fact that he cares enough to worry.

Once Lily heads to the office, Victoria will come back downstairs after talking to the kids. She’ll note that they were very receptive to the engagement, so Billy and Victoria will gush about how resilient and amazing their children are.

When the conversation shifts to Tara’s arrest, Billy will insist ChancComm has to cover it. He promised no stories about Ashland’s illness, but this is a difficult issue.

Victoria will point out that Ashland isn’t interested in protecting Tara, but she’ll warn about making Ashland look complicit. That’s something both Ashland and Victoria would have a problem with.

Billy will be skeptical that Ashland had nothing to do with Tara’s crimes. He’ll think Ashland may have at least turned a blind eye. However, Victoria will argue that Ashland didn’t benefit from Tara’s illegal activity in any way.

Victoria will contend that Tara was creating a financial safety net for herself, so Billy will suggest that presents a different problem since it shifts the focus to Tara’s affair with Kyle.

Billy will note that it puts Harrison and the Abbott family smack in the middle of all this. Meanwhile, Jack will stop by ChancComm to ask Lily if they’re planning on running a story about Tara’s arrest.

Lily will note that everyone else is, so why wouldn’t ChancComm? Billy will waltz in and agree they have to pursue it.

Jack will express concern over Kyle and Harrison becoming the story, but Billy will argue that Jack can’t honestly ask them not to cover this.

“That’s exactly what I’m doing!” Jack will fire back. He’ll push Billy to do what’s best for Kyle, Harrison and their family.

Once Victoria drives Ashland home from his treatment, he’ll seem fine at first. Ashland will insist his only complaint was that it was a tedious experience. Suddenly, Ashland will appear weak and short of breath.

Ashland will have to sit down, but he’ll assure Victoria that his doctors said to be prepared for this.

Later, Ashland will assure Victoria that he has no regrets about his treatment. If it gets Ashland even one more minute with Victoria, it’ll be worth it.

Victoria will be on the same page since she wants every second she can get with Ashland.

After Ashland mentions having to turn his devices off during his treatment, he’ll reveal that he missed three calls from Kyle. Ashland will guess that Kyle’s anxious to discuss Harrison’s future, but he’ll want to wait on calling him back.

Ashland will think he needs time to collect his thoughts and consider what’s best for Harrison.

When Nate meets up with Elena in the park, he’ll confess he’s a little disappointed about Moses changing his career path. Nevertheless, Nate will mainly just want Moses to be happy and fulfilled in his career like they are.

Elena will get a message about the hospital needing her again, so she’ll be tempted to get someone to cover since she just worked two shifts in a row.

Nate will tease that he could look at Elena’s schedule and shift things around, but she’ll stand up and warn him not to even joke about that.

Nate will be taken aback by how upset Elena seems, but she’ll calm down and admit she overreacted. Elena just won’t want anyone getting the wrong idea about her receiving preferential treatment.

Nate will promise to treat Elena like any other subordinate and will assure her that his new position won’t be a problem because they won’t let it become one. Unfortunately, Elena won’t look very convinced!

After Amanda joins Devon at the penthouse, they’ll discuss how lucky they are to have each other.

Devon will mention that Moses might follow in his footsteps when it comes to his career, so Amanda will think that’s so cool. Devon will agree it’d be great to have Moses at Hamilton-Winters where he belongs.

The Young and the Restless spoilers say Amanda and Devon are bound to face some bumps in the road as their relationship deepens.
