The Young and the Restless Spoilers: Tuesday, May 25 Recap – Chelsea Manipulates Rey – Amanda Confronts Lying Naya

The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers recap Tuesday, May 25, reveals that Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan) will manipulate Rey Rosales (Jordi Vilasuso) with a new request – and Amanda Sinclair (Karla Mosley) will confront lying Naya Benedict (Ptosha Storey).

There’s a lot going on in Tuesday’s episode, so here’s what Y&R fans can expect.

At the psychiatric hospital, Chelsea will claim she just awakened from a sweet dream about Connor Newman (Judah Mackey). Rey will be there – and Michael Baldwin (Christian LeBlanc) won’t be far behind. Once Chelsea’s attorney is present, she’ll give her statement as Rey records it.

Chelsea will rant about Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) and Sharon Rosales (Sharon Case) flaunting their affair right in front of her. She’ll note that she secretly got better little by little, but she’ll claim she acted on her own and will leave Chloe Mitchell (Elizabeth Hendrickson) out of this as promised.

Chelsea will promise that she did her research and only planted enough poison to make Rey sick. She’ll insist she’s not a killer and will argue that Sharon was going to take everything away from her.

Chelsea wanted Sharon to know what that felt like. She’ll insist she was betrayed and so was Rey.

Afterward, Michael will privately talk to Rey about Chelsea’s attorney building a diminished capacity defense. Michael will think it’s obvious that Chelsea isn’t herself, so he won’t plan on opposing the motion.

Once Rey rejoins Chelsea, he’ll want to talk to her about the affair she claims happened. Rey will hope Chelsea can trust this coming from him and will insist it was all in Chelsea’s head.

Rey will promise Sharon doesn’t have the kind of cruelty in her to openly flaunt an affair in front of paralyzed Chelsea.

Chelsea will argue with Rey until she pretends to have a moment of realization. She’ll seem panicked as she cries over not having a real reason to do what she did. Rey will argue that he didn’t tell Chelsea the truth to make her feel guilty. It was to help her heal.

Chelsea will act like she’s in shock that she really imagined it all. “I’m not well, am I?” Chelsea will ask. Rey will note that if the judge accepts Chelsea’s plea, then she’ll have plenty of time to sort through everything.

Rey will assure Chelsea that he forgives her and will push her to let go of Adam – just like he’s doing to repair his marriage to Sharon.

Before Rey goes, Chelsea will wonder if he’d be willing to visit her from time to time. She’ll admit Rey’s presence brings her comfort, so Rey will promise to be back if it’s approved by Chelsea’s doctor.

Once Rey exits, Chelsea will plop back on her bed with a smug smile.

At Crimson Lights, Moses Winters (Jacob Aaron Gaines) will be glad to see Faith Newman (Reylynn Caster) out and about. After Faith and Moses go study on the patio together, Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes) will get updates from Sharon about her reunion with Rey.

Sharon will also send Rey a text to let him know she’s thinking of her husband and loves him.

Once Rey finds Sharon at the coffeehouse, he’ll admit it was nice getting that text. Rey will note that his meeting with Chelsea went as well as could be expected.

Sharon will be glad Rey’s done with the case, but he’ll admit there’s one more development to discuss. Rey will mention how Chelsea wants him to visit occasionally, so Sharon will hope he let her down gently.

However, Rey will admit he thinks he should do it. If Chelsea is faking all this, then Rey will want to study her and find out for sure. If Chelsea isn’t faking it and needs his support, Rey won’t want to bail on her. He’ll tell Sharon that he was raised to help, but Sharon will seem unsettled.

At Society, Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) will talk to Adam about some plans for Newman Media. He’ll want to work on rebranding, so he’ll suggest a new logo along with some website changes.

Victor will think they should hire Noah Newman (Robert Adamson) since he’s a great visual artist, so Adam won’t have a problem with that – that is if Victor can even get Noah on board.

Adam will apologize for being a bit distracted since he’s no longer a fugitive but is still barred from seeing his son. Victor will offer to make a phone call and help Adam take care of it, but Adam will have a plan to deal with it on his own.

Once Adam shows up at Chelsea’s facility for a visit, Chelsea will immediately start flipping out. Dr. Hedges will insist this could be good and would give him something positive to report.

Adam will let Chelsea know he forgives her and will take all the blame for pushing her to act out.

Nevertheless, Adam will feel like their son needs a stable parent – and Chelsea can’t be one if she’s locked up in there. Adam will talk about the standing court order and point out that he isn’t a fugitive any longer.

Adam will push Chelsea to let him be a father to their son again, but Chelsea will fear Adam’s going to poison Connor against her.

Adam will promise not to say one unwind word about Chelsea. He’ll make it clear that he’s doing this for Connor’s sake – and Dr. Hedges will back Adam up on this being the right call. The doc will push Chelsea to do what Adam asks and let him be a father to Connor.

At The Grand Phoenix, Amanda will let Naya and Imani Benedict (Leigh-Ann Rose) know they have a problem. She’ll talk about her blackmail theory being wrong since Richard Nealon was actually looking for Amanda and sought a leave of absence.

Imani will push to find out more about the “mystery source,” but Amanda won’t reveal who it is. Naya will think all this is impossible since Richard didn’t even know she was pregnant.

Naya will argue that Amanda’s only job is to clear Sutton Ames (Jack Landron), but Amanda won’t think she can ignore this new information.

Imani will push Amanda to trust their mother, but Naya will get up and storm out after announcing she needs time to think. Once the half-sisters are alone, Imani will chew Amanda out for bringing all her insensitive questions to Naya.

Even so, Amanda will argue those questions may be the only thing keeping Sutton out of prison.

Once Naya has cooled off, she’ll return and exchange apologies with Amanda. Naya will admit she’s feeling overwhelmed and can’t figure out how Richard knew about her pregnancy.

Naya will want some time to process everything she’s learned, but Amanda will want to ask one question before she leaves.

Amanda will point out that Naya keeps saying she had no contact with Richard after she broke things off. She’ll want to know if Naya’s being honest with her.

Naya will scowl and insist she’ll try her best not to resent that question. She’ll snap that “of course” she was being honest before stomping off with Imani right behind her.

At Society, Victor will approach Devon Hamilton (Bryton James) and note that Amanda’s latest case is the kind that could make or break a legal career. Victor will just hope Amanda doesn’t make a big mistake.

Later, Devon will fill Amanda in on Victor’s warning – and Amanda will admit she suspects Naya is lying about further interactions with Richard. Amanda will note that she has two big unanswered questions she kept from Imani and Naya.

Amanda always assumed when Richard went to Sutton, it was about Newman Enterprises. Amanda will wonder if it was actually about her as well as Hilary Hamilton (Mishael Morgan). If it was, Amanda will wonder how that ties in with Richard’s death.
