The Young and the Restless Spoilers Update: Wednesday, February 17 – Chelsea Desperate Over Adam & Sharon’s Affair

The Young and the Restless Spoilers Update: Wednesday, February 17 – Chelsea Desperate Over Adam & Sharon's Affair

The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers update for Wednesday, February 17, teases that Nate Hastings (Sean Dominic) returns to his suite with Elena Dawson (Brytni Sarpy) for an important conversation. Nate feels this trip was what they needed after all – albeit in a different way. It’s given them a cold, hard dose of reality.

Nate and Elena can’t pretend everything’s normal now that he knows about her night with Devon Hamilton (Bryton James). Nate feels he should’ve listened more closely to Elena’s confusion and been more in tune with how she was feeling. There are just so many things unresolved with Devon.

Elena insists that she came to a realization along with Devon. She claims what they had was beautiful, but it was time to move on. Elena adds that’s why she came on this trip – because she wanted to move on with Nate.

Although Nate wants to be with Elena, he can’t do it knowing he only has part of her heart. Nate knows it might sound selfish, but he wants all her Elena…100 percent. Nate wonders if Elena can honestly give him that.

Later, Elena and Nate acknowledge that they’re making the right decision to cut the trip short home and head home. Elena admits she has a lot to think about, though she really enjoys spending time with Nate.

Elena understands if Nate doesn’t want to sit around and wait for her to figure all this out. Nate’s still hoping things will work out for them…eventually.

At Devon’s penthouse, he comes down to find Amanda Sinclair (Mishael Morgan) making breakfast and can tell she’s preoccupied. Amanda comes clean about receiving a surprise text from Naya Benedict (Ptosha Storey), who wants to meet up.

After breakfast, Amanda debates what to do and gets some advice from Devon. Amanda feels like it’s unfair and insensitive of Naya to ask this of her since Imani Benedict (Leigh-Ann Rose) got a restraining order.

Devon suggests Naya isn’t going to call the cops and encourages Amanda to give Naya a chance. Once Devon’s alone, he looks pensive as he thinks back on his steamy night with Elena.

Naya meets with Amanda at Crimson Lights and wants to hear more about the way Amanda grew up. Although Naya’s curious about the people who raised her, Amanda shuts down that topic. Amanda notes that things were very hard and complicated, so she only talks about that with people she knows quite well.

Amanda would rather talk about her grandparents. She wonders about Naya’s life growing up with her own parents.

Amanda gets agitated as she snaps about not asking to meet them. “I understand that I am still a shameful secret – just like I was my entire life,” Amanda says. She assumes Naya intends to keep it that way.

Naya regrets not giving warmest welcome and sending mixed signals. Amanda admits she’s dreamt of a happy ending, so Naya apologizes for how she’s handled this.

Naya tries to bond with Amanda over compartmentalizing, but Amanda feels there’s a big difference between them. That leaves Naya sorry for making the comparison.

Naya talks about how all the guilt and shame came rushing back when Amanda showed up. When you add the fact that one of her girls was gone, it was too much for Naya to take in all at once. Amanda points out that she never got a chance to meet Hilary Curtis Hamilton (Mishael Morgan) either.

Naya knows it’s all her fault, but she wants to know how to move forward. Naya doesn’t want to cause any more pain for Amanda or her family, including Imani. When Naya says she never should’ve confided in Imani, that upsets Amanda even further.

“More secrets and lies? That’s how you wished you would’ve handled it?” Amanda asks.

Naya argues that Imani hurt Amanda by lashing out. Nevertheless, Naya doesn’t want to lose another daughter without getting to know her. She wants to find joy in spending time with each other, but they’ll have to keep it between the two of them for now.

Amanda thinks that seems self-serving, but Naya insists she really wants to connect with Amanda. Amanda says she’s sorry but doesn’t think she can do that, so Naya looks distraught after Amanda leaves in a hurry.

At Sharon Rosales’ (Sharon Case) place, she learns Faith Newman (Alyvia Alyn Lind) is catching another ride to school. Sharon hopes it’s not Jordan (Madison Thompson), so Faith lashes out.

Faith wonders why Jordan would ever want to come back considering how rude Sharon was and how Sharon blamed Jordan for things that weren’t her fault.

Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) shows up and admits he’s Faith’s ride. He senses the mother-daughter tension and wonders what’s going on, but Sharon takes off to talk to Rey Rosales (Jordi Vilasuso).

When Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) walks in Crimson Lights, Rey isn’t happy about it. “For your own sake you should turn around and walk away,” Rey says. Rey thinks Adam came to provoke him.

However, Adam argues that Rey wants to bash his face in and wonders why. He suggests it can’t just be about the emotional “Shadam” moment Rey witnessed back at the cottage.

Rey points out that Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan) is at home recovering while Adam’s playing sick, twisted games. “Chelsea’s condition is none of your business, Rey,” Adam snaps. “But my wife is somehow yours?” Rey replies.

Rey’s spent entire career busting criminals and lowlifes, but he’s never met anyone as “utterly irredeemable” as Adam. Adam says Sharon doesn’t see him that way right before Sharon walks in.

After Sharon asks to speak with Rey alone, she says she’s not treating Chelsea anymore. Rey guesses that’s a start but doesn’t even begin to fix the core problem. He puts off this discussion until later.

Once Rey’s gone, Sharon corners Adam to grill him. “What did you say to Rey?!” Sharon asks frantically. Adam insists he said nothing and wonders if Sharon told Rey about the kiss. Sharon notes that she didn’t, so Adam says he didn’t let anything slip either.

Sharon tells Adam that it shouldn’t have happened. Even so, Adam notes that Sharon kissed him back. Sharon just wants Adam to stay away. He’s ruining her life, so Sharon begs Adam to let her be happy. Adam contends that’s all he wants.

“Oh, no,” Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes) says, arriving as Adam exits. “What have you done?” Sharon argues it was just Adam being Adam. She downplays everything and suggests the problem is Rey lets Adam get to him when he shouldn’t. Sharon adds that Adam eggs Rey on.

Mariah wants details, so Sharon talks about Rey questioning their entire marriage over a minor moment he witnessed. Mariah is suspicious since that doesn’t sound like Rey.

Sharon talks about finding someone else to be Chelsea’s therapist. Mariah feels it’s what Sharon should’ve done in the first place, She feels like Sharon was putting Adam first yet again and that must’ve hurt Rey.

“Why are you being so critical?” Sharon asks. Mariah notes that she doesn’t want to see Sharon lose the best thing that’s ever happened to her. Mariah pushes Sharon to kick Adam to the curb, “Why can’t you let him go?!” Mariah snaps. “I don’t know!” Sharon fires back. After Sharon decides she can’t do this right now, she heads back home.

Nick appears at the coffeehouse, so Mariah tells him Adam has struck again. Nick learns that Adam’s trying and succeeding in coming between “Shey.” That leads Nick to the penthouse, where he gives Chelsea a pep talk before Adam returns.

Nick tells Adam to “stay the hell away from Sharon,” but Adam doesn’t want Nick spouting off like this in front of Chelsea. However, Nick thinks Chelsea’s on the same page. “Damn straight we are,” Chelsea says in her head.

Nick calls Adam a narcissist who can’t stand seeing Sharon happy with a guy like Rey. Chelsea worries that Adam and Sharon are having an affair. After Adam tells Nick to get out, Chelsea isn’t pleased. “No, don’t go! I need answers!” Chelsea calls out in her thoughts.

Nick feels Adam is harassing Sharon, but Adam lies to Chelsea that nothing’s going on – that he only talked to Sharon about Chelsea as usual. Once the guys step out in the hall, Nick says he’s put Adam on notice. Nick won’t stand for Adam doing this to Sharon again.

At home, Sharon looks at her recent wedding photo and texts Rey about how they need to talk. She sits on sofa and thinks back to kiss with Adam before putting her head in her hands. Sharon tries to compose texts about fixing this, but she can’t find the right words.

Soon after on Thursday’s Young and the Restless episode, Sharon gets a call and exclaims over her daughter’s dilemma. She asks if Faith is OK and then says she’s on her way. Sharon quickly rushes for the door.

At Society, Lola Rosales (Sasha Calle) is planning a Valentine’s Day menu and wonders if Rey has any input. Lola assumes Rey and Sharon will be coming there for a romantic dinner. “We’ll have to get back to you,” Rey says awkwardly.

Lola can tell something’s wrong, so Rey admits he’s been arguing with Sharon about Adam. It’s been the same pattern on and off since Sharon brought Adam back from Vegas. Rey’s starting to wonder if he’s just being a fool.

This is beginning to remind him of the situation with Mia Rosales (Noemi Gonzalez) and Arturo Rosales (Jason Canela).

Rey thought his relationship was Sharon was 1000 times stronger, but maybe his love made him blind – maybe he just made the same mistake twice. Lola brings up her failed marriage to Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor), though she’s not comparing Sharon to Kyle.

Lola contends that Kyle was immature like Mia, but Sharon is more like Celeste Rosales (Eva LaRue).

Lola sees some parallels since their mom couldn’t resist their father who never deserved her. No matter how many times Celeste was warned, she always went back for more heartbreak. “So what you’re saying is that I should’ve seen this coming and that Sharon will never let Adam go?” Rey asks.

Lola’s not trying to predict the outcome here. She promises she’s really rooting for Rey and Sharon to get through this. Rey suggests that if Sharon expects him deal with seeing Adam every time he turns around, this isn’t going to work.

Back from the beach, Elena sees Devon at Crimson Lights. She relays the news that Nate figured out they cheated. Elena acknowledges that Nate wasn’t angry; he just withdrew and said the situation wasn’t working for him.

Devon asks if they broke up, so Elena says she doesn’t know what’ll happen with them. Nate wants Elena to search her heart and figure out what she really wants.

At The Grand Phoenix, Nate sees Amanda since he’s getting a room there. He brings up the noisy construction back at his place. Amanda seems perplexed when Nate cuts the conversation short.

Amanda talks to Devon next and updates him on how her conversation with Naya went. She reveals that Naya’s only willing to pursue a relationship in secret, which makes Amanda feel awful. Amanda just isn’t sure where they’ll go from here.

Back at the penthouse on Wednesday’s Y&R episode, Adam tries to explain away Nick’s outburst and goes to put on some music. “Look at me, you coward. Tell me what you’re up to. Never mind. I already know, you bastard,” Chelsea says in her own mind.
