The Young and the Restless Spoilers: Wednesday, December 8 Recap – Chance & Abby Heartbreak – Adam & Sally Mind Games

The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers recap for Wednesday, December 8, teases that Abby Newman-Abbott-Chancellor’s (Melissa Ordway) video diary will break Chance Chancellor’s (Conner Floyd) heart while Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) plays some Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope) mind games.

At Society, Adam will approach Sally’s table and urge her to offer updates if she notices any strange or concerning behavior from Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson).

Sally will argue that she’s not in the business of sharing gossip and will want to know what Adam’s motives are. She’ll be skeptical when Adam acts like he’s developed some empathy and fears he might’ve crossed the line.

Nearby, Lily Winters (Christel Khalil) will overhear Adam’s attempt to get Sally to spy for him. After Adam suggests he wants to end the war with Billy, he’ll hint that his rival couldn’t take another major loss. That’ll leave Lily rolling her eyes before she dashes off.

Later, Adam will tell Sally just to forget he asked for Billy intel. Sally will wonder if Adam suddenly doesn’t trust her, but Adam will act like there’s no point in injecting themselves into the situation.

Sally will admit she’d rather not be one of the people Billy drags down, so Adam will urge her to focus on her job and forget they had this conversation.

As Sally exits Adam’s office, she’ll scoff over his abrupt turnaround. Meanwhile, Adam will smirk as he sits at his desk – like maybe he’s up to something and using Sally as his pawn.

At The Grand Phoenix, Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) will be a flustered mess when Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) appears. Jack will soon turn his attention to Billy, who’ll want his brother to help him buy ChancComm from Jill Abbott (Jess Walton).

After Jack listens to Billy’s pitch, he’ll quickly turn it down. Jack won’t want to enable Billy’s latest addiction and will urge him to just let this go. He’ll remind Billy that the door’s always open at Jabot and will push him to give up this need to hurt Adam.

At Crimson Lights on Wednesday’s Y&R episode, Sharon Rosales (Sharon Case) will complain to Rey Rosales (Jordi Vilasuso) about how hard he is to shop for.

Sharon will want to get Rey a Christmas gift that he’ll actually like, but Rey will think Sharon already gave him the perfect gift by marrying him last year.

Sharon won’t be able to top that, but she’ll still hope to nail down a proper present for Rey. She’ll seek advice from Esther Valentine (Kate Linder) soon after, so that’ll lead to them sitting down and catching up on the topic of Chance’s return home.

While Sharon worries about Chance’s emotional state and all the adjustments he’ll have to make, Chance will battle guilt at the Chancellor mansion. He’ll be happy to be home, but he’ll feel terrible about all the precious moments he missed with Dominic Newman-Abbott-Chancellor.

Abby will offer reassurance since they’re going to make plenty more memories and will eventually remember she documented Dominic’s journey every step of the way. When Chance starts to watch a video Abby made while he was gone, it’ll take an emotional turn.

In that video, Abby will cry over how much she hates doing this alone and will talk about how much their son needs his father.

Abby will be apologetic since she forgot what was in some of the videos, but Chance will think it’s important for him to see what Abby experienced. He’ll plan to do whatever it takes to make up for the pain he caused Abby by leaving her for so long.

Back at The Grand Phoenix, Jack will sense that Phyllis isn’t acting like herself. He’ll want to talk in private, so they’ll head up to Phyllis’ suite. Phyllis will still be acting all jittery and babbling a mile a minute.

Jack will call Phyllis out on how nervous she seems and will think that’s his fault for confessing his true feelings.

However, Phyllis will assure Jack that he’s been wonderful and extremely supportive in the aftermath of her split from Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow).

Phyllis will get choked up over Jack’s Thanksgiving gesture and will acknowledge that maybe his earlier confession changed things, but she’ll think change is a part of life.

Phyllis will argue that their friendship is stronger than ever and will be determined to make sure it stays that way. Jack will agree they have something rare, so he’ll suggest setting some firm and clear boundaries.

Jack will note that despite coming clean about his true feelings, that doesn’t mean he thinks they should try again.

Jack will argue that what the heart wants and what reality will provide are often two very different things, but he’ll stop himself and seem to start over.

Jack will urge Phyllis to really listen to what he’s about to say. He’ll contend that he’s not about to rekindle things if it means glossing over the pain of the past.

It took a lot to put Jack’s heart back together, so he won’t want to put himself in a position where it could get broken again. Jack just won’t think he could handle that, so Phyllis will nod in understanding – though the tone of the scene will remain hopeful when it comes to Phyllis and Jack’s future.

Rey will also find Billy in the lobby, where he’ll admit the DA declined to pursue the blackmail case. He’ll acknowledge that for what it’s worth, he’d rather not have to slap cuffs on Billy ever again. Billy will appreciate that and suspect that it’s a different story with Adam!

After Rey visits Chance and Abby, he’ll hug his former partner and point out there’s no pressure on when he has to return to the force. Abby will insist she selfishly wants her husband home for a while – and Chance will agree he needs some time to spend with his wife and son.

While Rey reconvenes with Sharon and expresses concern for Chance, Lily will bring Billy up to speed on Adam encouraging Sally to spy. Billy will think his plan is working and will want to know he has Lily’s support.

Lily will still have some misgivings due to how dangerous Adam is, but she’ll assure Billy that she believes in him and loves him.

Billy will give Lily a quick peck and suggest he can’t ask for more than that. Lily and Billy will snuggle up together on the sofa looking rather pensive about the whole situation.

The Young and the Restless spoilers say Lily and Billy have more romantic obstacles in their future, so stay tuned.
