The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers recap for Wednesday, November 17, reveals that Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes) will slam irresponsible Abby Newman-Abbott-Chancellor (Melissa Ordway) for leaving town while Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) and Devon Hamilton (Bryton James) realize they need to gear up for a search. Here’s what Y&R fans can expect on Wednesday’s drama-filled episode.
At the Chancellor mansion, Ashley Abbott (Eileen Davidson) will fill Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) in on Chance Chancellor’s (Connor Floyd) presumed death before Mariah shows up.
Mariah will ask about Abby and learn she left early before anyone else was up.
Mariah will ask about Dominic Newman-Abbott-Chancellor next, so Ashley will admit he’s staying with Devon for a while.
The news will catch Mariah off guard, but Ashley will explain that Abby made the decision on her own and will rattle off family members who would’ve been happy to help.
Mariah will seem upset that she wasn’t even in the running to care for the baby, but she’ll understand why considering her attachment issues.
Ashley will gently urge Mariah not to take this personally since Abby felt Devon was the right choice.
Ashley will be grateful when Mariah seems to understand – though Mariah will mention wanting to check on the baby at Devon’s place before work.
At Devon’s penthouse, he’ll be up with Dominic before Amanda Sinclair (Mishael Morgan) joins the two of them.
Devon will think Dominic is settling in nicely, and Amanda will agree this calm routine was perhaps just what the baby needed.
After Moses Winters (Jacob Aaron Gaines) meets Dominic and comments on how he has Devon’s eyes, Mariah will stop by.
Mariah will be glad to see Dominic is in a good mood now that he’s out of the stressful mansion environment, but she’ll admit she’s bummed Abby didn’t ask her to watch the baby.
Devon will assure Mariah that it’s only temporary and that she can visit Dominic anytime she wants.
Talk will turn to Abby going MIA this morning, so Devon will note that Abby mentioned the possibility of leaving town. That’ll worry Mariah since Abby didn’t give anyone any further info on travel plans.
At Crimson Lights, Lauren Baldwin (Tracey E. Bregman) and Michael Baldwin (Christian LeBlanc) will talk about how in love they still are after all this time.
They’ll just hate that Nick and Phyllis Summers’ (Michelle Stafford) relationship has fallen apart.
While Michael and Lauren discuss where things went wrong, Phyllis will bump into Nick at Society.
Nick will think the best way to deal with something uncomfortable is to tackle it head-on, so he’ll suggest they should join each other for breakfast.
However, Phyllis will sit down with Nick, predict what he’s going to order and argue this isn’t going to work. Nick will really want to try being friends, so Phyllis will suggest that might be possible in time.
When Nick says life’s too short and urges Phyllis to spill what’s on her mind, she’ll ask about his family.
Nick will mention that he’s trying to stay out of the latest Ashland Locke (Richard Burgi) mess, so that’ll infuriate Phyllis since she’s been telling him to avoid all the family drama for months.
Phyllis will insist it feels great not to walk on eggshells around Nick anymore since she doesn’t have to worry about getting dumped.
Once the tension eases, Phyllis and Nick will discuss that Summer Newman-Abbott (Hunter King) was sad rather than smug over their breakup.
When it’s time to part ways, Nick will hope they can do this again soon. Phyllis will offer Nick a maybe on that, but she’ll seem frustrated after Nick walks out.
After Jack peers in the window and notices Phyllis isn’t doing well, he’ll approach her table and lend an ear. Phyllis will end up feeling like she needs to support Jack instead since he’ll be hurting for Abby.
As Phyllis gets emotional and says she’ll always be there for Jack, Amanda will approach and quickly worry that she’s interrupted something.
Jack and Phyllis will blame it on the news about Chance before Lauren and Michael appear for their breakfast meeting with Jack.
After Michael takes Amanda aside, he’ll assure he’s picking up good vibes from the jury.
Michael will feel like they don’t want to see Sutton Ames (Jack Landon) get away with his crimes, so Amanda will hope he’s right.
As for Lauren, she’ll hint to Jack that a friend is what he should remain to Phyllis. Lauren won’t think it’s wise to repeat the mistakes of the past, but Jack will hint about growing older and wiser.
Meanwhile, Phyllis will return to The Grand Phoenix and have some flashbacks. A wide-eyed Phyllis will look like she’s realizing she might still be in love with Jack.
Back with Ashley, she’ll leave Abby a voicemail urging her daughter to call back and reveal where she is. Ashley will then drop by Devon’s and reveal that she thinks Abby packed a bag.
Ashley will be concerned since Abby isn’t registered at any nearby hotels and won’t think this behavior is like Abby at all.
At the coffeehouse, Tessa Porter (Cait Fairbanks) will run into Noah Newman (Rory Gibson), who’ll seem upset over a text before brushing it off.
Once Tessa reveals that she re-signed with Devon’s label and has her first full-length album coming out, she’ll suggest she’d like for Noah to design the cover art.
Noah will seem hesitant since he prefers to have total creative control and didn’t have that at Newman Media, where Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) and Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) were breathing down his neck over his latest project.
After Tessa argues that Devon won’t be the same way, she’ll convince Noah to listen to her songs and will really think he’ll want to be part of this.
Mariah will arrive next and offer updates on the Dominic situation, so she’ll once again seem disappointed that she wasn’t even considered to take care of him.
Mariah will suggest nobody trusts her anymore, but Tessa will think Abby was just trying to be sensitive due to everything that happened.
After Mariah reveals that Abby might’ve left town, she’ll rant about how you can’t do that when you have a child.
Mariah will suggest a mom should still want to be close in case of an emergency and will think Abby’s being a little irresponsible.
Back at Devon’s place, Nick will show up for a meeting Devon forgot about. He’ll find out that Abby left the baby in Devon’s care and has disappeared without a note or any other communication.
Nick and Devon will agree they have to find Abby since she doesn’t need to be alone right now.
After Ashley returns to the Chancellor mansion, she’ll realize Abby still isn’t home. Ashley will call Abby once again to insist they’re all worried and will push her daughter to call back as soon as she gets her messages.
