The Young and the Restless Spoilers: Wednesday, September 22 Recap – Victor Blasts Saint Jack – Nick’s Fury – Dina’s Promise

The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers recap for Wednesday, September 22, reveals that Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) will blast Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) for acting like a saint – and Nick Newman’s (Joshua Morrow) fury will erupt. Dina Mergeron (Marla Adams) will also make a promise to her son in this special standalone episode, which will feature Jack’s crazy dream.

At the Abbott mansion, Jack will be deep in thought over his invitation to Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) and Summer Newman’s (Hunter King) wedding.

Traci Abbott (Beth Maitland) will break Jack’s trance by inviting him to see Abby Newman-Abbott-Chancellor (Melissa Ordway) and the baby with her, but Jack will pass since it’s getting kind of late.

Traci will sense that Jack is troubled, so he’ll admit this is the umpteenth wedding he’s gone to alone.

After Traci points out that Jack’s stuck in a cycle of falling in love, swearing off it and getting lonely enough to yearn for romance, she’ll get that Jack’s at a low point right now.

Jack will acknowledge that it’s been that way since Dina died.

Traci will feel certain Jack’s going to find someone since the universe wouldn’t let someone with a heart as big as his stay alone for too long.

After Traci urges Jack to head to bed, he’ll admit he wants to stay up and try to call Kyle before his morning workout in Italy.

Once Traci’s gone, Jack will reflect on his son getting married while he remains single. “They grow up so fast, don’t they?” Dina’s voice will call out.

After Jack picks up a framed photo, he’ll look wistful as he tells his mother hello.

As Jack drifts off to sleep, Dina will talk about having a bird’s eye view for her grandson’s upcoming wedding.

Dina will also encourage Jack to always follow his heart – and suddenly, Jack will dream he’s at the Chancellor mansion.

Abby will be holding Dominic Newman-Abbott-Chancellor and will greet Jack when he walks in. She’ll hope Dominic grows up to have a heart as big as Jack, but Traci will warn that Jack loves to be in love.

Traci will talk about how you can’t protect your children from heartbreak – and Jack keeps coming back for his own heartbreak as well.

Jack will argue that he’s never found the right person, but Traci will wonder if he’s sure.

Suddenly, Jack will be alone when he sees Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford), who’ll blow him a kiss. He’ll be transported back to the Abbott mansion, where he’ll hear Dina and John Abbott’s (Jerry Douglas) old song playing.

Traci will wonder how their parents could seem so happy when they really weren’t. She’ll feel like John wanted to believe their love was strong enough that things would’ve worked out under different circumstances.

Traci will know that Jack hasn’t given up on love since she’ll still see the yearning on his face.

As Jack’s dream continues, Nick will grab Jack by the shoulder to spin him around.

After Nick rants about finally being in a good place with Phyllis, he’ll insist that Jack’s doing everything he can to ruin it. Jack will contend that Nick did something far worse by going after Phyllis when Jack was still with her years ago.

Nick will act like Jack’s trying to justify his actions and will complain about him putting all kinds of thoughts in Phyllis’ head.

Jack will argue that he was being honest about his feelings, not making a play for Phyllis.

As the men argue, Phyllis will appear and urge Nick to stop shouting. She won’t think Jack is the problem, but Jack will start stammering about how he shouldn’t have come clean about his feelings.

Phyllis will insist it was fine – that it was the purest kind of beautiful, unbridled honesty.

After Jack admits that he never moved on, Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope) will appear in this dream and note that he’s right. “I couldn’t agree more.

You should’ve let go of Phyllis a long time ago, Jack,” Sally will chime in. She’ll contend that they had something magical and could’ve been Genoa City’s powercouple.

Jack will think Sally’s misremembering what happened, but she’ll fire back that she has total recall. She won’t think her mistakes were any worse than the ones Phyllis has made over the years.

“I mean, I never ran anybody over with my car, so why should she get a free pass?” Sally will ask. She’ll point out that Jack couldn’t forgive her like he did Phyllis countless times before.

Soon after, Jack will appear at the ranch and snatch a liquor bottle away from Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott). He’ll wonder what happened with Victor that’s driven Nikki to drink again.

Nikki will argue that she’s happy in her relationship with Victor and has been for a long time. She’ll think Jack’s jealous of that relationship and will blow up at him for causing Phyllis to break Nick’s heart.

Jack will presume Nick’s heartbreak is why Nikki’s drinking, but he’ll deny ever doing anything to jeopardize Nick and Phyllis’ romance.

After Jack downplays his love confession to Phyllis and blames it on one too many glasses of wine, Nikki will shout that he shouldn’t have done it. “And stop pretending you’re a saint!” Victor will yell when he appears next to Nikki.

Victor will note that with him, what you see is what you get. He’ll acknowledge his own ruthlessness, but he’ll point out that he doesn’t whisper sweet nothings into his old flame’s ear.

Victor will admit that Nick changes women the way he changes careers, but Nikki will pipe up that it doesn’t make the heartache less painful.

Traci, Sally and Nick will join Victor and Nikki in ganging up on Jack, who’ll shout that he holds each of them in his heart to some degree.

Jack will insist that he’s got friends, family and people he works with. “I have love in my life! It’s more than enough for me!” Jack will declare.

A bright will shine down on Jack, who’ll see Phyllis standing next to him alone. Phyllis will think Jack needs to be honest since that love truly isn’t enough.

“You don’t want to be alone anymore,” Phyllis will insist. “What you really want more than anything is to be with—”

Jack will jolt awake from that wild nightmare and text Nick to ask if they can talk since it’s important. Once Jack meets up with Nick at Crimson Lights, he’ll admit that not too long ago he told Phyllis that she was very much still in his heart.

Jack will add that he told Phyllis he never stopped loving her.

Nick will admit he’s known how Jack felt for a while now. He’ll assure Jack that he doesn’t feel threatened and understands how Jack would be drawn to the familiar after what happened with Sally.

Nick will relate to Jack’s relationship with Phyllis since he’s able to reminisce with Sharon Rosales (Sharon Case) and focus on the good times, too.

Since Nick knew about Jack’s feelings, Jack will wonder why he confided in him the other day.

Nick won’t really know and will guess that maybe he was testing Jack. Nick will guess the question is what happens now, but Jack will insist nothing’s going to happen.

Jack will make it clear he’d never act on those feelings, so Nick will reflect on how he couldn’t stop himself from acting on his own feelings and hurting Jack years ago.

Nick will be sorry that Jack hasn’t found someone who loves him as much as he loves Phyllis. He’ll know that woman is out there somewhere and will really hope Jack finds her.

Afterward, Nick will meet up with Phyllis in their hotel suite and confess that Jack wanted to talk about the conversation he had with her the other night.

Phyllis will suggest she didn’t tell Nick since it was personal to Jack. She’ll point out that this doesn’t change anything for them, but Nick won’t be so sure.

As Phyllis initiates lovemaking, she’ll argue that she knows exactly how to prove to Nick that they’re solid.

Back with Jack, he’ll get Kyle on the phone to gush over the upcoming wedding and admit he won’t be bringing a date.

Jack will seem rather emotional as he hangs up, but Dina’s voice will call out to him and will promise he’ll find love again.

Dina will know because Jack is yearning for it and will assure Jack of her love.

The Young and the Restless spoilers say Jack’s love life could come with some curveballs, so stay tuned.
