Tonights 7 Little Johnstons finale episode begins with some big changes for the Johnston family, Trent has a new job as a car salesman and Amber is going back to college to get her Bachelor’s degree. School has started back and the family is very busy. Amber likes having the kids come over for dinner now that Anna, Jonah and Elizabeth have moved out. Trent likes his new job, he hasn’t sold any cars yet but he has done a lot of training. Jonah is also doing well at the dealership, he is making enough money to support himself.

Elizabeth is happy that Amber is going back to college, now her mom can become a computer teacher once she graduates. Emma and Alex are sophmores, Emma had a hard first week because in one class kids talk a lot and it distracts her. Now that Jonah is out of the house, Alex is moving into his room and he is happy, there is a bigger bed and bigger TV. In general, the house is more quiet without all the older kids in the house. Alex says he has been dreaming about this quiet since he was ten years old.

Amber got an email from a family in Finland, their highschooler is also a little person and he has to learn English to become a pediatric surgeon, and they wanted to know if they would host him. Amber tells Trent is a great opportunity for the boy and for them as well. They sent a family photo and the boy is the only little person in the family. Amber wants to discuss it with the family and see if everyone is on board, Trent says he is already on board. Although, they do have to make sure the logistics work because they want Emma and Alex happy and they have to keep in mind that Trent just started a new job and Amber has taken a full load in college, they want to make sure they can give this boy the attention that he deserves.

Anna and Amber are both starting college, they are in the same program but at different colleges. In the past, Anna and Amber have not seen eye to eye, but since her moving out there has been growing up on both sides. Amber has grown to understand how Anna’s brain works and Anna has grown in maturity. Anna is happy that their relationship is fine now and she is looking forward to spending more time with her.

Amber tells Anna that they need to make their goal to graduate in May 2024. Amber, Trent, Alex and Emma are out for ice cream, Trent asks the kids how they feel about expanding their family. Alex asks if it is going to be a pet. Then Alex worries it might be a baby. Amber explains the situation about the boy from Finland. It is not an adoption, it is to sponsor the boy for a foreign exchange student. Alex says a pet would be easier. The kids are somewhat on board, Amber proposes then to do a video chat and she tells them, that that doesn’t mean they have to do it. The boys name is Joose.

Elizabeth and Anna take Emma out shopping to cheer her up after a tough week. During the outing, Emma tells them about the foreign exchange student. Elizabeth says she wishes them the best, but she is staying over at her house.

Emma and Alex are working on their homework, so is Amber when Trent walks in with his first cheque. He tells Amber not to spend it all in one place, it is his base salary not from a car sale. Emma says her shopping with the girls made her feel happier.

Time for the video chat, the four are on one computer and Joose on his computer in Finland. Joose tells them that he is a little nervous. Amber feels the awkwardness but they have to figure out how to break the ice. Joose is one grade ahead of Emma and Alex, he likes to play soccer. Communicating with Joose is pretty easy, he already speaks English and enough to get along. Emma thinks Joose is nice, not at all weird. Joose’s father is teaching him how to drive, Amber is impressed that in international countries little people getting opportunities that they struggle with in the US, being driving.

Joose had lengthening surgey in his arms to be able to help him in daily life functions. Once or twice Joose had to go to Google translate, Amber and Trent liked that, it should that he really wants to learn. The video chat has given the family more encouragement to do this, Joose is excited and wants the opportunity. After they hung up, Trent and Amber tell Emma and Alex that it will be three months if they agree to it, they do. It’s official, JoOse is going to America.

THE END!
