In tonight’s Blue Bloods finale episode, Manhattan District Attorney Crawford was losing the will of the people. She seemingly came out with these new and somewhat drastic bail reforms that allows to go back onto the street within hours of committing a felony. The whole city has been dealing with a crime wave ever since.

Frank was asked about in a press briefing and as the police commissioner he had only a few words to say. He said that reforms were against penal code. He implied that ADAs working under Crawford should stick to the law and not to a mandate created by Crawford. But this was a press briefing after all. The press naturally asked about his daughter Erin because she was an ADA and so all expected Frank to make a smart remark when all he did was excuse himself once it got too personal.

But Erin had been watching that press conference. She saw what her father said and what he didn’t say. She later went storming into his office being mad as hell. Erin called out her father for going to war against the District Attorney’s office. Something that his own assistant also claimed he did. It was just Frank who didn’t see it that way.

Frank thinks Crawford should be replaced. Erin thought he was alluding to her and she told him that she couldn’t do the job. Frank said she could do it; she just chooses not to do it. And Erin hadn’t anything to say that because she was sure she made her feelings plain.

Frank next had a meeting with Crawford herself. Crawford came in with an attitude because she felt that Frank was attacking her personally with him coming out again the reforms. But that wasn’t the case. Frank has been Commissioner for a long time. He’s seen DAs come and go. He’s always had a combative relationship with them and so he informed Crawford that it wasn’t personal. It was just the nature of the job. Something Crawford hadn’t believed. She thinks that Frank wants her out because he wants to put Erin in that position. Crawford thinks Erin is coming for her job. Its why she’s always riding Erin and its now why she was riding Frank.

After their meeting, Crawford held her own press conference. She called Frank outdated. She said that the Reagan name was synonymous with the broken windows mandate and that’s true. Frank was a believer in the broken windows program. He firmly believed that if the windows were left broken that something else could be wrong inside of the house. But Frank didn’t do was push Erin for the job. He loves his daughter. He knows she’s qualified and that she could the job in her sleep only that’s not what Erin wants. Erin kept getting pressured to run for political officer and she wasn’t sure if that was right for her.

As Erin was going back and forth over what she should do, her brothers and even her nephew had teamed up to find a missing girl. Jamie and his nephew Joe had raided brothel when they met a woman. She claimed not to be a prostitute. She said she was only there because she was trying to find her daughter. They got split up at the border. The coyote taking them over had separated mother and daughter and then he disappeared with the daughter. The daughter managed to sneak a call to her mom. She admitted she was in a van with twenty other girls and that they were being taken to New York City.

Jamie and Joe offered to find the girl. They went looking for her via the coyote who helped them cross the border and eventually they learned that a man by the name of Arturo Munoz was involved. They went to go follow him. They later found him after he had been arrested by Danny. Danny said that Munoz was involved in a bombing that killed a protected witness. They went go arrest Munoz for that crime when they found a dead body in his trunk. In his stolen car. Munoz’s boss wanted him to take the fall for the girl in the trunk and so he arranged things to make Munoz look guilty.

But he wasn’t guilty. He came clean. He made a deal with the cops about what he knew and that led them to a missing teenager. She had a bomb strapped to her chest when they found her, but the Reagan man were able to diffuse it and they even laughed about it afterwards. Later, they went to Sunday dinner. Anthony had been there. Joe had been there. And so that’s when Erin announced she’s running for DA.

Erin thought about it for a while. She realized she had to put her hat in the ring after she learned no DA was ever going to trust her for her merits alone and that they would always believe she was her father’s puppet.

THE END!
