Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers recap for Friday, July 8, reveals that Ben Weston (Robert Scott Wilson), Ciara Brady Weston (Victoria Konefal) and Baby Bo Weston got a sailboat exit while Leo Stark (Greg Rikaart) got a clue about Gwen Rizczech’s (Emily O’Brien) prison break. Here’s how all the Days action went down.
At the townhouse on Friday’s DOOL episode, Marlena Evans (Deidre Hall) acknowledged that EJ DiMera (Dan Feuerriegel) cared about Belle Brady (Martha Madison), but she insisted Belle and Shawn Brady (Brandon Beemer) still loved each other.
Marlena thought that was something EJ should keep in mind.
At the hospital, Belle and Shawn shared an emotional moment following their ordeal with Jan Spears (Heather Lindell) on the docks.
It was obvious that Belle and Shawn still had a lot of love left in their hearts.
Jan’s body still hadn’t been found, so Shawn said it might’ve been washed out to sea – though Belle brought up the possibility that Jan was alive and would return.
Shawn said that if that happened, Jan would be sent back to prison immediately.
Jan was out of their lives, but Belle wasn’t sure she could get on board with raising Jan’s baby – though she understood Shawn couldn’t walk away from his son.
EJ was also creating distance between them, so Shawn and Belle’s relationship remained up in the air.
As for Ben and Ciara’s sendoff, Belle opted out since she wasn’t ready to revisit the docks after all the Jan drama.
EJ comforted Belle upon her return home and didn’t know what he would’ve done if he’d lost her. Belle seemed pensive as she headed upstairs to take a shower.
At the Salem PD on Friday’s Days episode, Ben was upset over Clyde Weston’s (James Read) arrest, but Clyde swore on his grandson’s life that he didn’t kill Abigail DiMera (Marci Miller).
Ben wondered if Clyde could swear the same thing when it came to what happened to EJ, so Clyde promised he didn’t shoot him and claimed he wasn’t behind the hit.
Although Ben feared maybe he shouldn’t leave Clyde with all this going on, Clyde pushed him to sail off on his adventure with Ciara and knew he was going to be a great father.
Soon after, Clyde left Nancy Miller (Patrika Darbo) a voicemail to confirm he was telling the truth about his innocence and that he’d catch the man who sold him the stolen bracelet.
At the Kiriakis mansion, Victor Kiriakis (John Aniston) knew why Ciara was there and understood that she was putting her family first.
That said, Victor wanted Ciara to hurry back and make sure he was the first person she came home to see.
Ciara shared a heartfelt goodbye with Grandpa Victor before joining Ben, Rafe Hernandez (Galen Gering) and Marlena Evans (Deidre Hall) for little Bo’s christening service.
Marlena and Rafe made some sweet promises to the baby as his godparents.
In bed at their apartment, Ava Vitali (Tamara Braun) and Jake DiMera (Brandon Barash) canoodled as they discussed Clyde getting arrested for Abigail’s murder.
Jake was surprised since his money had been on Gwen – and he pointed out that it wouldn’t be the first time someone broke out of Statesville.
During Leo’s visit to see Gwen, they remained suspicious of each other. Gwen pushed Leo to admit the truth about the jewelry and the night Abigail died.
After the guard mentioned Gwen’s upcoming art therapy, she confirmed she wouldn’t miss it.
The guard was glad to hear it since he didn’t want a repeat of Gwen disappearing on him.
Leo wanted answers, so Gwen lied that she simply lost track of time in the library and missed bed check.
When Leo privately asked the guard if Gwen missed bed check on June 10, the guy didn’t have any idea about the date.
Once Gwen was alone, she got on the phone with Ava and faced more questions about what she did during her brief prison break.
Down on the docks, Ciara and Ben shared some final goodbyes with Rafe, Marlena, Shawn and Jake.
The happy couple also posed for a picture with Baby Bo as they got ready to sail around the world for their joint exit.
