Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers recap for Monday, January 24, teases that Abigail DiMera (Marci Miller) followed “Sarah Horton” (Linsey Godfrey) to the airstrip and exposed Ava Vitali (Tamara Braun). Paulina Price’s (Jackée Harry) demand also stunned Tripp Johnson (Lucas Adams) at the hospital, so let’s talk about how all the Days drama played out.
At the bar on Monday’s DOOL episode, Johnny DiMera (Carson Boatman) told Gabi Hernandez DiMera (Camila Banus) that when he wants something, he finds a way to get it.
Gabi was offended over being an “it,” but Johnny showered her with compliments to make up for misspeaking.
Johnny admitted he followed Gabi so they could finish their earlier conversation, so she claimed to be flattered.
After Johnny said he wanted to be alone with Gabi, Jake DiMera (Brandon Barash) interrupted. He got Johnny a drink and helped Gabi with their proposal regarding the DiMera shares.
Jake and Gabi wanted to pool their shares with Johnny’s so they could put a heavy hitter like Victor Kiriakis (John Aniston) on the DiMera board.
Johnny wasn’t certain about that plan and acted like he’d need someone – meaning Gabi – to be VERY persuasive.
After Johnny took off, Gabi filled Jake in on the kiss Johnny planted. Jake was furious, but Gabi pointed out that she slapped Johnny for it.
Gabi wanted to put all the Johnny business aside and focus on Jake, so she kissed her boyfriend passionately.
In the town square, Gwen Rizczech (Emily O’Brien) complained about Abigail attacking a stranger before pretending to recognize “Sarah.”
Gwen acted like this was her first time meeting “Sarah,” who confirmed she wanted nothing to do with Xander Cook Kiriakis (Paul Telfer).
Afterward, Gwen wound up back in her suite and thanked Ava, who had once again stepped up to wear the mask.
Ava insisted Gwen was on her own now since she had to get back home for dinner with Rafe Hernandez (Galen Gering) and Nicole Walker (Arianne Zucker).
However, Gwen didn’t feel she was cut out for this and worried about blowing things if she ran into someone else who loved Sarah.
Gwen begged until Ava finally agreed to wear the mask one more time to the airstrip, where she’d make sure “Sarah” got caught on the security camera footage.
At the DiMera mansion, Abigail tried to explain the weird encounter she just had.
Abigail told Chad DiMera (Billy Flynn) about being convinced that Kristen DiMera (Stacy Haiduk) was under the Sarah mask until Kristen called her. Abigail then suspected Gwen, who also showed up.
Although Abigail wanted to believe the real Sarah was back and making her own decisions, she had her doubts.
Chad noted that if someone was impersonating Sarah, there was another player involved. Abigail felt this was her last chance to get to the bottom of things since “Sarah” was headed for the airstrip.
At the Hernandez house, Rafe and Nicole worried that Ava was playing mind games with them. They were further convinced of that when Ava called to say something came up.
Ava pushed Rafe and Nicole to eat without her before disconnecting abruptly.
Rafe suspected that Ava wanted to come home and catch them together. He planted a hot kiss on Nicole as an example of what Ava thought she might walk in on!
Later, Chad was looking for Abigail and found out from Johnny that she left in a hurry.
Meanwhile, Abigail confronted “Sarah” after following her to the airstrip. Ava lost her mask in the showdown, so Abigail was floored to see who was really posing as Sarah.
At Paulina’s apartment, Chanel Dupree (Raven Bowens) admitted to Allie Horton (Lindsay Arnold) that her mother caught them in bed together.
Allie panicked at the thought of Paulina spilling their secret, especially to Tripp.
Chanel assured Allie that Paulina wouldn’t breathe a word to anyone.
Allie also admitted to Chanel that she caught Johnny kissing Gabi, so Chanel felt like her husband had been bad news from the start. She cried in Allie’s arms briefly, but she didn’t really want to talk about her feelings.
At the hospital on Monday’s Days episode, Paulina was nervous when Tripp showed up to examine her ankle.
Paulina demanded another doctor, but she couldn’t explain why and ultimately relented on letting Tripp stay.
Tripp offered some positive updates on Paulina’s recovery and announced that she didn’t need a cane anymore.
Tripp also asked about Chanel, so Paulina acted like she was doing great thanks to Allie.
Paulina then realized how that might sound and scrambled to lie about how Allie left right away that night.
Paulina also made it clear to Tripp that Allie and Chanel were just friends.
Tripp figured Paulina was acting weird because of the kisses Chanel and Allie had shared in the past. He wasn’t concerned about those and knew Allie loved him.
Soon after, Allie brought Tripp some chowder and pecan pie in a takeout bag.
Allie said she missed Tripp and gave him a hug, she looked uneasy over his shoulder.
As for Paulina, she met back up with Chanel and learned her daughter changed her mind.
Chanel decided she wanted a hefty divorce settlement after all and announced that she’d take Johnny for everything he was worth!
