Days of Our Lives Spoilers: Thursday, June 23 Recap – Jan’s Baby Gets a Name – Chad’s Heartbreaking Task – Sami’s Discovery

Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers recap for Thursday, June 23, reveals that Jan Spears’ (Heather Lindell) baby got a name while Chad DiMera (Billy Flynn) faced a heartbreaking task. Sami Brady (Alison Sweeney) also made a discovery, so here’s how all the Days drama played out.

First on Thursday’s DOOL episode, Ben Weston (Robert Scott Wilson) praised Grandpa Clyde Weston (James Read) for being so good with the baby.

Clyde couldn’t help but think about Abigail DiMera’s (Marci Miller) little ones right now since they just lost their mom.

Once Clyde left for work, Ben opened up to Ciara Brady Weston (Victoria Konefal) about his guilt since he tried to take Abigail away from her kids, too.

Ciara assured Ben that he was a different person now and suggested a visit to meet her new nephew might lift Ben’s spirits.

At the hospital, Jan worried about how tiny her baby boy was, but Shawn insisted he was doing well.

The warden called wondering when Shawn would bring Jan back to prison, but she argued that the baby needed his mother.

Shawn got Kayla Brady (Mary Beth Evans) to back him up with the warden about Jan needing to stay with her son for a while longer.

Jan excitedly hugged Shawn, so Ciara was caught off guard by their embrace as she entered with Ben.

Jan wanted to hold little Bo Weston (Cody and Warren Krasnow), so Ciara nervously allowed it.

That led to Jan mentioning she’s chosen Shawn Christian as the name for her own son, which was OK with Shawn.

Once Ben and Ciara returned home, they reflected on the awkwardness of that hospital visit.

Ciara also spoke to Hope Brady (Kristian Alfonso) over the phone about the newest family addition.

At the townhouse, Belle Brady (Martha Madison) was with Thomas DiMera (Cary Christopher) and Charlotte DiMera (Autumn Gendron) when Chloe Lane (Nadia Bjorlin) showed up.

Charlotte and Thomas briefly thought it was their mommy coming to get them.

Belle sent Thomas and Charlotte to the kitchen for cookies before confirming to Chloe that they didn’t know about Abigail’s death yet.

Chloe also got updates on Belle’s issues with Shawn and how she would’ve slept with EJ DiMera (Dan Feuerriegel) if Chad hadn’t called out for help.

At the DiMera mansion on Thursday’s Days episode, EJ found Chad curled up on the sofa and wondered if he’d slept there.

Chad admitted he hadn’t slept at all, so EJ suggested it wasn’t a good idea for Chad to be alone in the house right now.

Chad insisted he was indeed alone since someone took Abigail from him.

EJ mentioned that the kids were asking for their mother and needed to be told what happened, so Chad lashed out before apologizing.

Although Chad wasn’t sure how to do any of this without Abigail, EJ offered support and held his brother as he cried.

Afterward, Chad and EJ arrived at the townhouse, where Chloe could practically feel the heat radiating between EJ and Belle.

Chloe called Belle out on the chemistry in private before Belle headed to see Shawn at the hospital.

As for Chad, he told the kids that their Boston trip would have to wait.

Once Chad sat down with Thomas and Charlotte, he confessed he had to tell them something about Mommy.

Back with Jan, she wondered if Shawn would go get her a chili-cheese burger and fries since she couldn’t take the hospital food anymore. On his way out, Shawn crossed paths with Belle in an uncomfortable moment.

Next, Brady Black (Eric Martsolf) ran into Lucas Horton (Bryan Dattilo) and mentioned the AA meeting he skipped out on earlier.

Lucas insisted he didn’t see Brady and that he only left early to pick Sami up from the airport – though that flight didn’t make it in as expected.

Brady still felt like something was going on, so Lucas eventually admitted he went on a bender. That left Brady wondering if this had anything to do with Abigail.

It seemed like Lucas might confess his true fears, but he ultimately claimed to be worried he couldn’t help Jennifer Deveraux (Cady McClain) through this.

Brady then offered a pep talk and mentioned a new development in the murder investigation.

Once Brady said the police thought it might’ve been a robbery gone wrong, he pointed out the missing jewelry could lead to the killer.

Lucas became concerned about the jewelry possibly being in his hotel suite, so he ransacked the place later and came up empty.

Since Lucas still feared he could’ve killed Abigail, he wondered aloud about the possibility.

Suddenly, Sami called out Lucas’ name from the doorway on crutches and looked quizzical over the messy room.

At the pub, Leo Stark (Greg Rikaart) saw an article online about the missing jewelry in Abigail’s case and knew he had to get rid of it.

When Clyde walked over, Leo claimed to have inherited some jewelry that he wanted to sell.

Clyde was interested and set up a meeting with Leo on a bench soon after.

Once Clyde guessed the jewelry was actually stolen, he agreed to use his contacts and get Leo 50 cents on the dollar. Clyde wanted a third of Leo’s cut and established that their hands would be kept clean.

After Clyde was alone with the sack of jewels, EJ appeared and said it looked like someone left Clyde holding the bag.

Elsewhere, Brady talked to Chloe about Abigail’s murderer being the scum of the earth right as Leo popped up.

Days of Our Lives spoilers say Leo could land in hot water if he’s not careful, so stick with DOOL.
