Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers recap for Thursday, May 19, reveals that Sarah Horton (Linsey Godfrey) verbally attacked Xander Cook (Paul Telfer) over the Mackenzie “Mickey” Horton reveal – and Lani Price-Grant (Sal Stowers) confessed to Eli Grant (Lamon Archey).
At the pub on Thursday’s Days episode, Xander admitted there was a glitch in Sarah’s memory, so she wasn’t aware her baby girl had died. Eric Brady (Greg Vaughan) was appalled over Xander lying to Sarah again and pressuring him into this, too.
Xander tried to act like the truth would be too hard on Sarah right now, but Eric felt like Xander just didn’t want Sarah to hate him. Nevertheless, Xander kept pushing Eric to tell Sarah that he’d taken Mackenzie “Mickey” Horton on vacation with Nicole Walker (Arianne Zucker).
Eric pointed out that’d mean more lies since he wasn’t even with Nicole anymore. While they were bickering, Xander got a call about Sarah disappearing from the Kiriakis mansion and raced off to find her.
At Nicole Walker’s (Arianne Zucker) place, she was confused over Sarah being there to pick up her baby. Rafe Hernandez (Galen Gering) came out wearing only a towel, so Sarah wondered if Nicole was cheating on Eric.
Nicole insisted she wasn’t and hinted at it being complicated, but Sarah didn’t really care about the details. Once Sarah realized Nicole wasn’t with Eric anymore and that her baby wasn’t at the apartment, she took off.
Xander arrived panicking over the Sarah situation, but Nicole felt he’d been down this deceptive road before. After Nicole urged Xander to come clean to Sarah himself, Rafe seemed proud over Nicole’s push for honesty and had another reason to love her.
Once Sarah found Eric at the pub, he sat her down and felt there was something she should know. By the time Xander returned, Sarah was crying in Eric’s arms following the truth about “Mickey’s” death and the baby swap.
Sarah blew up at the sight of Xander and wondered how he could do this before stomping off. That left Xander upset over missing his chance to confess.
At the Salem PD, Lani and Paulina Price (Jackée Harry) argued about whether Paulina should take the fall. Although Lani wasn’t sure she could live with the cover-up, Paulina felt she deserved some blame for letting TR Coates (William Christian) back in the picture.
After a brief encounter with Julie Williams (Susan Seaforth Hayes) in the town square, Chanel Dupree (Raven Bowens) joined Paulina in the interrogation room. Paulina babbled on about the treats Chanel brought from the bakery, but Chanel wanted her mom to get serious.
Although Chanel was terrified of losing Paulina to prison, her mom offered reassurance and pulled her close.
Next on Thursday’s Days episode, Eli warned Abe Carver (James Reynolds) that they couldn’t jump to conclusions about Lani’s guilt. Eli wanted to talk to Lani about what really happened to TR – and he got his chance when Lani returned to the hospital.
Lani didn’t appreciate it when Eli started poking holes in the shooting story, but he gently urged her to trust him with the truth. In the end, Lani admitted she shot TR. Despite Lani’s concerns about Paulina taking the blame, Eli thought maybe it was the right call since Lani’s family needed her.
Back with Abe, he got a visit from Julie along with another nudge toward spilling his true feelings to Paulina. Abe wanted to wait since Paulina had been arrested, but Julie suggested it’d be good for Paulina to have some hope to cling to right now.
