Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers recap for Tuesday, July 5, reveals that Jan Spears (Heather Lindell) had a Salem PD mainframe password for Orpheus (George DelHoyo). Rafe Hernandez (Galen Gering) also spotted Nancy Miller’s (Patrika Darbo) stolen bracelet, so here’s how all the DOOL drama played out.
After Abigail DiMera’s (Marci Miller) funeral, Marlena Evans (Deidre Hall) cornered a teary Nancy to make sure she was all right.
Talk eventually turned to Nancy’s new romance with Clyde Weston (James Read), so she defended the man in her life and the changes he’d made.
While Nancy showed off the new bracelet Clyde gave her, Ben Weston (Robert Scott Wilson) was busy breaking the news to his dad about sailing around the world with Ciara Brady Weston (Victoria Konefal).
Clyde wasn’t thrilled about Ben and Ciara taking his new grandbaby away so soon – not to mention this left Clyde in a tight spot since he was living with Ben as a condition of his parole.
Ben suggested Clyde could bunk at the pub and acted like Ciara was working everything out with Roman Brady (Josh Taylor).
When Nancy got updates, she offered to let Clyde move in with her.
Clyde worried about moving too fast for Nancy since she was just getting through a divorce, but they smiled over Nancy being his backup plan.
At the Horton house on Tuesday’s Days episode, Ciara told Rafe, Julie Williams (Susan Seaforth Hayes) and Doug Williams (Bill Hayes) about leaving tomorrow on her sailboat adventure with Ben and little Bo Weston (Cody and Warren Krasnow).
Although Julie and Doug were sad to see more of their loved ones leaving, they wished Ben and Ciara the best.
Rafe also agreed to be there for the baby’s christening, which Ciara said they were hoping to have before they left town.
Later, Rafe showed up at the pub and noticed the bracelet on Nancy’s wrist.
It seemed like Rafe recognized it was part of Abigail’s murder investigation since he immediately questioned Nancy about where she got it.
At the hospital, Jan held Baby Shawn Christian for the first time and gushed over how much he looked like Shawn Brady (Brandon Beemer) – though Shawn couldn’t really see the resemblance.
At Statesville on Tuesday’s Days episode, Evan Frears aka Christian Maddox (Brock Kelly) pushed Orpheus to admit his plan, so Orpheus finally confessed that Jan was going to steal the password for the mainframe at the Salem PD.
Although Orpheus refused to share exactly what he wanted in the files, he knew this would give them the upper hand.
Soon after, Shawn got a surprising phone call from Evan, who wanted to discuss his redemption.
However, it was actually a way to get the “redemption” code word to Jan, which signaled that she needed to be alone for a chat on the burner phone Orpheus mailed her.
Jan sent Shawn off to get her a chili cheeseburger and got on the phone with Orpheus, who lied that Evan didn’t know about the baby’s true paternity.
Orpheus and Jan reminded each other about the risks of double-crossing before Jan fumbled through the complicated password she’d memorized.
After Orpheus said it was a pleasure doing business with Jan, he hung up and told Evan it was time to get to work.
Evan wondered when he could see his son, so Orpheus assured it’d be a couple weeks or months max.
That was too long for Evan, who dug Jan’s burner phone number out of the trash and secretly called her back.
When Jan demanded to know what Evan wanted, he replied that he wanted his baby.
At the townhouse, Ben stopped by to see Marlena, so they discussed his complex feelings over Abigail’s death.
Ben also wanted to know if Marlena offered virtual therapy.
Back with Ciara, she met up with Shawn and revealed her extended sailboat trip with Ben.
Shawn reflected on doing the same thing with his own family and offered well wishes.
