Retired DEA Special Agent Thomas Webber was gunned down outside of a bakery. Webber was a good man. A good agent. He retired the moment his pension kicked in. He barely had time to spend it when he was killed in broad daylight and no one saw a thing that could help. The witnesses claim that the shooter wore a mask. He also disappeared before they could tell which direction he left in. But the FBI who was working this case wasn’t sure if Webber’s murder had anything to do with his past cases or if it involved his latest line of work. Webber worked as a bouncer. He worked at a strip club called “Show Palace”.

There was an incident at the strip club the night before Webber was killed. Webber was forced to throw out a guy who got aggressive with one of the girls and the guy claimed he was her boyfriend. Webber still showed this man the door. The FBI got footage of the incident and they went looking for this supposed boyfriend. They later identified him as Rafer Boggs. Boggs tried to run when they announced themselves as FBI and so they were forced to pursue as well as detain him before they found out that Boggs had an alibi for the time of death. He couldn’t be their shooter. And so the FBI came to believe that Boggs had nothing to do with what happened.

This was confirmed when there was a second murder. This time a church janitor was shot and killed. The witness in that murder described someone wearing a mask. The killer used the same gun on both victims and so which connected the murders. Only no one knew at first how the two victims were connected. A DEA Agent and a bouncer didn’t really operate on the same level. Jubal’s team still went looking for any possible connection and they eventually found one. It turns out that both victims were due to testify in a prominent trial against LS-19. Webber was the lead investigator on the case and so he was due to testify as to the investigator.

The janitor was moonlighting as a car mechanic when he found a bunch of drugs stashed in an LS-19 car. He was also going to testify to that fact. Both men were testifying against one of the big bosses in the gang and so their murders must have been carried out to prevent that. Jubal had everyone attached to the case called and warned. They were all going into protective custody while the case was being dealt with. But the FBI also had to find the shooter. They knew who hired him. They just needed access to his phone to prove he accepted the job and that’s where Kayla Marsh came in. Marsh had access to the phone because she was working for the suspected shooter.

Marsh works with him in one of his legitimate businesses. She was a waitress. She was also a drug addict. The FBI simply had to grab her after she routinely bought drugs and they threatened to press charges if she didn’t help them. Marsh agreed to the plans. She did so under the condition that it was a one-and-done thing only life had other plans. Marsh grabbed the phone. The FBI was able to clone it. They knew that their suspect got the call to carry out the job. They also know that he wasn’t their shooter. The last one was proved when their suspect was himself murdered by the shooter. And so they looked into who he was last in contact with.

It turns out their real shooter was identified as Trey Cooper. He was another LS-19 member. He was also Marsh’s boyfriend. The one she didn’t want knowing she was back on drugs because he disapproves of it. That boyfriend. Trey was heavily in contact with their previous suspect. He also owns a gun that looks exactly like a murder weapon. They brought in Marsh and she identified the gun as the one her boyfriend uses. She should know. She lives with him. She said her boyfriend has a gun for their protection. He keeps it in a safe. The FBI had Marsh wear a wire and go collect the gun.

They even threatened to put her back in jail for the drug charges. Which frustrated Marsh. She wants to be done with the FBI. She didn’t want to be at their beck and call forever. But she brought this on herself. The only person who felt bad for her was Nina. Nina didn’t believe in using drug addicts as informants. She tried to fight against it and each and every time she was ignored by her boss. It also didn’t help that she was working this case with Tiffany who was just fine with using Marsh. Marsh got them what they asked for. She stole her boyfriend’s gun. She then told them that she was done with helping them and so it’s a good thing they put a tracker in her car.

Marsh got a message from her boyfriend telling her that he needed to leave town in a hurry. She agreed to go with him never knowing that he found out she lied when she stopped by the house and so his plan was to always kill her. The FBI found out that Cooper was their killer. They were looking for him anyway when they used the tracker on Marsh to find him. He had taken Marsh hostage. And they were forced to shoot and kill him.

They told Marsh afterward that she should have trusted them when her boyfriend first reached out to her. But she accused them of ruining her life. She said that before they entered her life – she had a job, a boyfriend, and a place to live. And now that’s all gone.

Tiffany and Nina later talked about their tough day on the job. They both spoke about their private lives. Nina set up a trust fund for the child of one of her informants who died on the job and that was a lot for her because she came from a trailer. And so Tiffany said Webber was one of the guys who made her feel welcome as a federal officer. So, that’s why she kept pushing so hard with Marsh.
