General Hospital (GH) spoilers reveal that Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright) isn’t being fair to Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard), so the hypocrite will deserve it when her husband inevitably turns to Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) for comfort and support.
Carly needs to cut Sonny some slack, but she’s shutting him out and blaming him for things that were beyond his control. Has Sonny made some mistakes in how he handled things post-Nixon Falls? Definitely. Does Carly have a right to be angry over Nina almost sleeping with Sonny? Absolutely.
However, Sonny didn’t ask to get amnesia and end up tending bar at the same place Nina was. As soon as Sonny remembered Carly, he rushed right home to his wife. That should count for something, shouldn’t it?
Sonny was able to get past the fact that Carly’s feelings for Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) became real. Carly was about to take Jason to bed at the very moment Sonny came home to her!
Not to mention Carly was on board with Donna Corinthos (Ava Rose) calling Jason “Daddy” and having him basically take Sonny’s place in every way. On New Year’s Eve, Carly wasn’t off crying out to Sonny in the night. She was calling out to JASON – wondering where her best friend was.
There’s no doubt that Carly has always had a complicated kind of love for Jason, which has to still bother Sonny on some level. Even so, Carly never would’ve married Jason if she hadn’t thought her husband was dead. Was Carly almost lovemaking on her wedding night all that different from amnesiac Sonny almost hopping in bed with Nina?
Now instead of listening to Sonny and truly putting some effort into healing their marriage, Carly’s not sure they can get past what Sonny ALMOST did with memory issues from a brain injury! She’s pushing Sonny away – and if Carly winds up pushing Sonny right into Nina’s arms, we won’t have a whole lot of sympathy for her.
Carly should try to be a little more understanding about a Nixon Falls past that wasn’t Sonny’s fault, especially since Sonny has been clear about his choice in the present.
