General Hospital (GH) spoilers tease that Elizabeth Baldwin’s (Rebecca Herbst) mystery may deepen. Jake Webber (Hudson West) will stop his torment, but will a new stalker continue the plot?
This GH storyline has been a rather unusual one – at least in terms of the typical soap pattern of revealing things.
After the first stalker incident occurred, Hamilton Finn (Michael Easton) immediately considered the possibility that one of Liz’s boys was behind this.
Betsy Frank (Deborah Strang) briefly became a suspect, but Finn remained suspicious of Jake.
Now Liz is suspicious of Jake as well, so this is a pretty lackluster mystery.
There were suspicions about Jake from the get-go, so those suspicions just came back into play and grew stronger later.
During the week of March 14-18, Jake will fear Liz may never be able to forgive what he’s done.
That certainly makes it sound like Jake is guilty, but what kind of big reveal is that supposed to be?
It’s just weird that the writers chose to have Finn and Liz suspect Jake instead of saving that as a bombshell.
Normally, a mystery comes with a twist – a big shocker at the end. This may not be wrapped up all neat and tidy just because Jake confesses.
Liz has been really out of sorts lately, especially when it comes to her sleeping habits.
They keep mentioning how tired Liz is, the bags under her eyes, her sleeping medication, etc.
What’s the point of all that? It feels like this is building somewhere, so there may indeed be a twist after Jake comes clean.
The spoilers make is sound like Jake genuinely feels guilty for committing the stalker acts, so he may confess and get the professional help he needs.
That’s why it could come as a huge shock if yet another Franco Baldwin (Roger Howarth) “haunting” happens – and Jake vehemently denies it.
Liz might have to believe Jake in that case, especially if his new psychiatrist backs him up.
That could open the door to a deepening mystery that leads to a genuine big reveal.
There’s the potential for Liz to unknowingly carry out some stalker drama herself, especially if she decides to get the stronger sleeping medication she initially turned down.
Liz has been so focused on her boys not having closure that she may not realize she doesn’t have true Franco closure either.
That could spark the revelation that Liz has some mental anguish of her own to work through.
Of course, there’s also a chance someone has been watching in approval of Jake’s plot and will pick up where he left off.
In other words, another stalker might piggyback on Jake’s plan and leave Liz disturbed as the puzzle continues.
Bottom line, something feels strange about this mystery’s conclusion, so that could be a sign that the story isn’t really over!
