General Hospital (GH) spoilers update for Monday, January 24, teases that Maxie Jones’ (Kirsten Storms) Louise August (London and Jett Prinzo-Berendt) takeover will cause concern while Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright) decides she’s not impressed with Sonny Corinthos’ (Maurice Benard) grand gesture. Victor Cassadine (Charles Shaughnessy) will also have a cryptic warning, so here’s what viewers can expect.
For starters, Sonny will keep trying to win Carly over on The Haunted Star. He’ll be convinced they can get past the hurdles in their marriage if Carly will just come home and really talk to him.
Carly will feel like they’ve done plenty of talking already and won’t think anything’s going to change – not until Sonny can truly cut Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) out of the picture.
Sonny will become increasingly determined to prove his love for Carly, so he’ll make some sort of grand gesture as part of that plan.
That could involve something wild like trying to hurl himself overboard since Sonny’s off lithium right now.
Sonny just isn’t thinking clearly or acting like himself, but Carly may be too upset to notice.
Carly will feel like Sonny is disrespecting her need for time and space, so things will remain pretty tense between them.
At The Savoy, Portia Robinson (Brook Kerr) will be surprised when Marshall Ashford (Robert Gossett) shows up, but the real surprise will come through Curtis Ashford’s (Donnell Turner) admission.
Curtis will confess that he invited Marshall to the nightclub for the evening, so Portia should be pleased.
Portia can tell Curtis wants a relationship with his father deep down, so she’ll hope this could serve as a fresh start.
However, a troubling situation will escalate at The Savoy without the next episode or two. If Marshall’s mob past comes back to haunt, it could leave Curtis frustrated over his dad’s secrecy again.
Curtis feels like knowing the full truth may be the only way to protect the people he loves – and he might be right.
Meanwhile, there’ll be another father who’s unwilling to share the whole story. Victor will want the chance to be a real dad to Valentin and will allude to some storm that’s brewing.
Valentin will realize he’s not going to get any details out of Victor right now, so he’ll think that’s his cue to leave.
After Valentin offers to pick up the drink tab at Charlie’s Pub, he’ll pull a slip of paper out of his pocket.
It’ll serve as a difficult reminder, so this may serve as a way to stir up Valentin’s pain over losing “Bailey Quartermaine” and rile up him when it comes to Brook Lynn Quartermaine (Amanda Setton) revenge.
Speaking of Brook Lynn, she’ll be taken aback when Maxie shows up and demands her daughter. I
t’s possible Maxie will just really be longing for a visit, but Maxie might also get fed up enough to just want this to be over already. Maxie might want to reclaim Louise and just hire guards to keep her safe.
Whatever the case, Maxie will barge in for a daughter takeover and leave Brook Lynn to deal with the crisis.
Brook Lynn might have to convince Maxie that it’s just not safe to take Louise back – not when Peter August (Wes Ramsey) hasn’t even been transported to a secure prison facility yet.
Other GH spoilers say Leo Falconeri (Easton Rocket Sweda) will get some great news thanks to Ned Quartermaine (Wally Kurth) and Olivia Quartermaine (Lisa LoCicero).
They’ll decide this is the perfect time to reveal some fantastic new details, so this could involve Ned’s official adoption of Leo as well as the upcoming vow renewal.
Ned, Olivia and Leo will savor some fun family moments, so things will really be moving in the right direction for the three of them.
Over with Austin Gatlin Holt (Roger Howarth), he’ll find himself on the hot seat during a conversation with Britt Westbourne (Kelly Thiebaud).
Since Britt knows Austin has a crush on Maxie, she’ll quiz him about how things are going on the romantic front.
Austin may remind Britt that Maxie’s just a friend, but she might see the potential for more to happen between them on their upcoming Pautauk trip.
Austin will likely fill Britt in on that and get teased about the endless possibilities. As for Maxie, she’ll face a tough blow when she realizes something unfortunate.
Maxie could easily spy a moment between Britt and Austin that looks flirty from her perspective.
Since Maxie has some complex feelings for Austin, her heart might sink if it looks like he’s interested in Britt instead.
Back on The Haunted Star, Laura Collins (Genie Francis) will grill Jennifer Smith (Holly Gagnier) with Spencer Cassadine (Nicholas Chavez) by her side.
Laura will want to know why villainous Jennifer has resurfaced and what she’s up to, but Jennifer may not divulge much other than she’s there to mourn her former obsession, Luke.
This blast-from-the-cast GH character could be working with Victor – and it looks like Laura will indeed consider that possibility.
Regardless, Laura will let Spencer know that they have to stay on guard against Victor.
Laura will vow to get to the bottom of Victor’s secret goals and protect her family before it’s too late.
