General Hospital (GH) spoilers reveal that Rebecca Herbst (Elizabeth Baldwin) shut down any fired claims and spoke out on Liz’s GH status. Since the buzz about Herbst’s departure was getting out of hand, she felt the need to hop on Twitter and set the record straight.
Of course, it’s kind of ridiculous that Herbst even has to deal with this drama.
It’s obvious that Liz’s time in Shadybrook is part of her storyline – just like Spencer Cassadine’s (Nicholas Chavez) time in Spring Ridge was part of his own.
Going back even further, Alexis Davis (Nancy Lee Grahn) had a prison storyline as well.
Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) also didn’t leave GH when he was in Nixon Falls, so people need to accept that sometimes characters just land in certain places for story arcs.
There’s no reason anyone should believe Liz’s time in Shadybrook is any different, but she’s still facing all kinds of accusations about her exit and why.
The truth is Liz hasn’t departed the show, so Rebecca Herbst addressed that and debunked several theories that had been circulating – including a rather comical one.
Let’s look at what Herbst had to say on Twitter recently.
“Well, hello there…just thought I’d shut down some rumors that have been circulating: I haven’t been fired. I’m not on vacation. I don’t have covid. My kids don’t keep me from working. Nor do I have cramps (the best one yet). I hope you all have a great weekend! XOXO.. #GH,” Herbst tweeted.
There you have it! Rebecca Herbst hasn’t been fired and isn’t being kept off the show for any other wild reason like cramping – though that’s indeed a rather bizarre thing for fans to be speculating about.
That said, it’d be nice if Elizabeth’s storyline was more about Liz herself and less about Hamilton Finn (Michael Easton).
Finn has been getting way too much focus when Liz is the one who has issues to work through, but we’ll see her dive deeper into those issues soon.
