General Hospital Spoilers: Tuesday, December 13 Recap – Drew Keeps Willow’s Leukemia Secret – Maxie Rejects Austin

General Hospital (GH) spoilers recap for Tuesday, December 13, reveals that Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) found Donna Corinthos’ (Arya & Ayla Dormiani) Mommy drawing stuck in the couch cushions. Although Nina had such a nice time playing with Donna, she worried about blurred lines.

Nina knew she’d always have a hole in her heart due to her stolen daughter, so she didn’t want to use Donna the way she’d used Wiley Quartermaine-Corinthos (Viron Weaver).

Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) argued that Nina didn’t use Wiley and that she had a right to be in her grandson’s life.

That said, Sonny agreed to follow Nina’s lead on maintaining boundaries. Nina just wanted to just be Sonny’s friend as far as Donna was concerned.

Nina thought that for the best in case things didn’t work out between them, but Sonny assured Nina that he was in this for the long haul.

Once Nina admitted she felt the same, she shared a kiss with Sonny.

In a private breakroom, Denise McKenzie (Alex Rietveld) assured Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) that she stuck to the story Harmony Miller (Inga Cadranel) offered, so there was no reason for Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison) to look for Willow Tait’s (Katelyn MacMullen) birth mother.

Carly tried to justify keeping this news from Willow, but Denise didn’t care as long as the check in her hand cleared.

In fact, Denise pushed for another payment after she revealed this one only covered the death of one imaginary dead parent.

Carly was upset since Denise was supposed to say Willow’s birth father was dead as well.

Denise threatened to blab to Drew or Willow, so Carly had to hand over another payment.

In exchange, Denise hinted about calling Drew back to tell him she remembered about Willow’s dead papa.

Although Carly acted disgusted over Denise’s extra cash grab, Denise argued that she owned what she did and felt Carly could benefit from looking in the mirror and doing the same.

In the Metro Court restaurant, Drew told Willow that it appeared her birth mother was dead.

Willow also learned her birth father was still out there, but Drew admitted he’d be hard to nail down.

Drew tried to stay hopeful and suggested checking genealogy sites, but Willow seemed to accept she’d reached a dead end and went to get some air.

Drew followed Willow, who admitted he had no idea how important this was to her.

After Willow said her “hail Mary” wasn’t going to happen, Drew flashed back to some suspicious moments when Willow seemed pale and weak.

That led Drew to the conclusion that Willow was sick, so she confessed she had stage four leukemia.

Drew learned Willow needed a bone marrow transplant, so her best shot at a match was a family member she clearly didn’t have.

Willow wanted to shield Wiley and keep up a normal act for a while longer, so she convinced Drew not to tell a soul – not even Carly.

After Drew promised, he also assured Willow that he wouldn’t give up on the search for her father and any other relatives.

Once Willow and Drew were back inside, Carly met up with them and played dumb as she reacted to the dead birth mom news.

After a distraught Willow left, Carly told Drew that she didn’t know finding Willow’s birth parents was so important to her.

Drew admitted he didn’t know that either.

At GH, Maxie Jones (Kirsten Storms) was upset that she had to hear about Britt Westbourne’s (Kelly Thiebaud) birthday bash from Austin Gatlin Holt (Roger Howarth), but Britt insisted she just wanted to deliver an invitation in person.

Once Britt handed that invite over, Maxie was curious about the reason for Britt’s sudden interest in throwing herself a big bash.

Britt covered before Maxie opened up about some of her Austin issues.

Since Britt was the only one of her friends Austin hadn’t alienated, Maxie was worried.

After everything Maxie had been through with Peter August (Wes Ramsey), it was hard to trust her instincts.

Next, Damian Spinelli (Bradford Anderson) started to deliver the algorithm results that Austin blackmailed him into running, but he eventually decided to reset his moral compass.

Even if it cost him his company and freedom, Spinelli said he could never betray Maxie.

Austin followed Spinelli as they struggled over the envelope that the algorithm results were in.

When Maxie appeared with Britt, she caught them fighting just before the results flew toward her feet.

Maxie realized the info was from Society Setups and wondered why Spinelli would run this behind her back.

Austin confessed to blackmailing Spinelli into it and offered Maxie an apology in private.

Maxie talked about what a huge deal it was to threaten Spinelli, who was her friend and the father of her child.

That was a major red flag – and Maxie had ignored too many of those with Peter.

Austin hoped they could move past this, but Maxie struggled over his actions.

According to Maxie, anybody meant to be with her would never do what Austin did to someone she cared about.

Back with Britt, she questioned Spinelli about Zelda Telesco (Kristin Carey) and assumed there was no real personalized matchmaking going on.

Britt said it was no wonder Society Setups got it so wrong when it came to Cody, so Spinelli muttered about that being an understatement before leaving with an outraged Maxie.

Soon after, Austin opened up the algorithm results to see what they had to say.

At Charlie’s Pub, Alexis Davis (Nancy Lee Grahn) called Gregory Chase (Gregory Harrison) out on his tendency to lecture her instead of having normal conversations, so she gave him a gentle nudge to fix that.

After Hamilton Finn (Michael Easton) wound up at the bar, Alexis approached him and got updates on things being over with Elizabeth Baldwin (Rebecca Herbst).

After Alexis subtly advised him not to drink, Finn decided to turn down the one he’d ordered.

Gregory gave Finn his coat to walk home in since it was cold outside.

At Wyndemere, Ava showed up to discuss the fate of her marriage with Nikolas Cassadine (Marcus Coloma).

Although they hadn’t been a formidable team in a long time, Ava wondered if they could find their way back to that.

Nikolas didn’t want to rush things in case Ava was considering moving back in, especially with Spencer Cassadine (Nicholas Chavez) in the house again.

Ava wasn’t ready to forgive Nikolas, but she wasn’t ready to give up either and hoped to press pause – particularly due to the situation with Victor Cassadine (Charles Shaughnessy).

Suddenly, Elizabeth let herself in using the key Nikolas had given her, so Ava was taken aback.

Liz acted like Aiden Webber (Enzo De Angelis) was doing a family tree project, so Nikolas was letting her look through some of Laura Collins’ (Genie Francis) stuff.

Ava decided to take off, but she seemed a bit suspicious about Liz’s visit and the key she had.

Once Ava left, she crossed paths with Finn and wondered if he had something on his mind.

Finn seemed tempted to tell Ava about Liz being pregnant by Nikolas, but he ultimately just told her to have a good night.

Back with Liz, she explained how she’d been backed into a corner and lied about being pregnant with Nikolas’ child.

Liz’s plan was to fake the pregnancy and then tell Finn she miscarried in a few weeks.

After Elizabeth thought about how much pain she was putting Finn through, she wanted to tell him the whole truth.

Nikolas warned that Liz couldn’t do that and hinted that she could go to prison for helping him.

Although Nikolas felt he was so close to reuniting with Ava, Liz reminded him that sacrifices had to be made.

Elizabeth wondered if Nik realistically thought he could keep captive Esme Prince (Avery Pohl) a secret and still reunite with Ava.

General Hospital spoilers say more chaos is headed Nikolas’ way soon, so stay tuned for more Ava marriage drama!
