Tonight’s Law & Order SVU episode begins with lifeguard training by Chief Greco. One of the swimmers, Martina, Diego’s little sister did well on the test, he also inappropriately compliments her on her bathing suit. Greco asks Rodney, one of the lifeguards if he has seen the prop dummy for the CPR portion, he says no. Greco asks for a volunteer since he doesn’t have the dummy, he asks Martina to volunteer.

Later, Greco calls Martina to his office, he calls her to back and tells her to close the door. In his office he tells her she did with her CPR but her times are off. He asks her who is training her, she says her brother. He says that is the problem and holds her hips and shows her how she should move. When Martina comes out of the office her brother looks at her and sees something is wrong, Greco comes out of the room and Diego attacks him.

At the station, Fin gives Rollins a keychain with a bullet, same caliber as the one she got shot with. He tells her that she has to won her trauma or her trauma will own her. Benson walks in and says she just got a call from 11 and asked for someone to go down there. Rollins and Finn go down there and Diego is in a jail cell. He tells them that he was protecting his sister from Greco. Finn asks if Greco raped his sister and says no, he raped him.

The next day, Finn and Rollins want to speak to Diego about what he said regarding being sexually assaulted by his boss but he says he was just drunk, nothing happened. At the pool, he and his sister took the qualifying test, he saw his sister come out of his office later and she looked upset, he lost it. Just then, Martina shows up, Rollins goes out the room with her. Fin asks Diego again what happened, and even if it did happen it didn’t make him any less of a man. He admits that Greco forced him down on his desk and did it to him. After that he cleaned up, after that he got everything he wanted and Greco never did it again. He didn’t tell anyone. When his sister wanted to be a lifeguard, he didn’t warn her because he thought he was into guys.

Greco has no priors, everyone says he is friendly, single. Finn thinks Diego is telling the truth, he has no reason to lie. Finn and Benson go see Greco and tell him that Diego said he sexually assaulted him. Benson asks why he didn’t report the physical assault. He says because he is a nice kid. They talk about Martina going into his office, he says she was upset that she didn’t qualify, he offered to train her. Greco says he never had any sexual contact with Diego.

Next stop is for the team to speak to Rodney, he says he was more concerned about how Diego looked when he clocked in, you could smell the booze. Diego is in the water and he looks like he is struggling, the lifeguard, Pinsky, stalls and Velasco jumps in and so does Rodney. It takes 30 minutes work on Diego to bring him back, he is rushed to the hospital. Pinsky didn’t go in because he says he saw a rip tide and feared for his life.

Trauma docs call Fin, they called it, Diego is gone. Muncy said that Diego was limp when Velasco pulled him out of the water. Finn thinks there has to be other victims. Rollins and Fin go to see Diego’s mother and sister, give their condolences.

Martina tells Fin and Rollins, she says she might know someone else who Greco assaulted. They head to the home of Daniela run, she says she heard Diego drowned, he was her first love. She says that Diego considered Greco a father figure, Greco raped her, Diego didn’t even want to touch her after. Muncy tells her that Greco did the same thing to Diego. Greco took her into his office and pinned her down. She says she had no business being a lifeguard anyway, she couldn’t swim. She went to the police in the Bronx, they did a rape kit, and nobody ever called her back.

Fin and Benson head to the pool, they arrest Greco for the rape of Daniela.

In court, Greco pleads not guilty. The judged grants ROR. Assembly woman Diane Garcia tells Benson and Carisi that Greco is a decent man, she asks them to think about it.

Daniela’s rape kit came back. Its a match.

The grand jury convenes in five minutes and Daniela is no where to be found. Muncy and Velasco go to her house and she says she cannot testify. Her father is on parole and Greco threatened to have her father violated, she cannot risk having her father sent back to prison. Diego is dead, nothing is going to help him and she has to protect her father.

Rollins and Benson meet with Greco and his lawyer, Rollins says his client used political clout to threaten their witness. Greco says he is devoted by Diego’s death, they had their issues, but he didn’t want this to happen.

Benson tells Rollins that Daniela admitted that she didn’t even know how to swim and Greco tried to hire her. If he knowing hired lifeguards who didn’t know how to swim, they may have a manslaughter case. After some research the team fins out that about 10 lifeguards drowned at the beach who were qualified by Greco. Ronnie Volpe is the qualifier, they decide to start with him. Maybe he helped fake the times.

They bring Volpe in, he says he came in because he felt sick about Diego, but maybe he needs a lawyer. He says it is all Greco, he changed the scores. He wrote them down, then when he put them in the system they would change. He didn’t report it because he liked his job.

Carisi says if those lifeguards didn’t help the victims on purposed it is depraved indifference to human life and murder two. Benson tells him to take him down.

In court, Volpe says that he noticed Greco was changing the scores, he admitted to having sex with the candidates and Volpe recorded it on his cell. He also took screen shots of the original scores which proves that Greco changed them.

Carisi is with Benson, he says she slept like a baby last night, she credits Fin.

Greco is on the witness stand, he says he is a man of integrity. He says he has had sex with lifeguards underneath him but it was all consensual. He never doctored any of the scores. Carisi cross examines him and brings out Greco’s personality. He says Diego was a drunk who showed up drunk and he can’t have that on his team, he gave the order for him to swim laps, but he didn’t know there would be a rip tide. Pinsky walks out of the courtroom.

Velasco goes to speak to Pinsky asks him why he came to court, he says Greco made it clear they all had to show up. He says he didn’t know Diego was going to go under, Greco told him not to go in the water, no matter what and he should not have listened to him. Velasco asks what Greco has on him. Pinsky says Greco has pictures of him doing stuff with other guys and threaten to tell everyone, his family and his girlfriend, what he does.

Carisi tells Greco what he knows, he calls him a manipulative little big man and it is all coming down.

Greco will plead to ten counts of manslaughter, he will be in prison until he is 70.

Benson tells Velasco that he did everything right in trying to save Diego.

THE END!
