Tonight’s The Bachelor episode begins with the aftermath of Susie breaking up with Clayton in Iceland. Clayton has found himself in church, he is hurt bad. Last night everything blew up in his face, he is so messed up at this point and he has no idea what is going to happen.
He wants to believe in love but he doesn’t know. He needs someone to help him because he is so broken. Clayton meets with Jesse and says he was blindsided, everything they had meant nothing, it doesn’t make sense. He doesn’t know where to go from here. Jesse tells him that Gabby and Rachel want roses tonight and they want to meet his parents. He is worried that if they both hear that he slept with each of them, they might bail out as well. Clayton’s goal is to go in and lay it all on the line and take the risk.
Time for what Jesse calls, “the Rose Ceremony from hell.” Gabby and Rachel are standing and wondering where Susie is when Clayton walks in. He tells them that Susie is not there, he is shattered to pieces and questioning everything. The person in front of them is not the person who they were with last.
He goes on, Susie told him that if he told them he was in love with them or was intimate with them, the journey was over for them. And, he doesn’t want that to be a deal breaker with them. He was in love with her, and he is in love with the two of them, and he was intimate with both of them. Both women take a second and walk away.
Rachel is shocked that Clayton is the one that is heartbroken. Both women are crying, Gabby says maybe it is easier just to go. Jesse goes to see Clayton and all they can hear is the two women crying. Gabby walks past Jesse and Clayton, and keeps going. Clayton tells Jesse that he wants to continue with both of them. Jesse leave and Clayton goes to sit on the stairs. Gabby returns and she tells him this is so much.
He tells her this is real and he is scared. She is concerned that Susie is not there. He says that Susie couldn’t move forward with the fact that he told the two of them he loved them and he was intimidate with them. He tells her that he is trying to find out who he loves the most and he has the best connection with.
Rachel is still sitting on the stairs and crying. She is heartbroken, she can’t believe Clayton is in love with three women. She says she is in disbelief and needs to talk to him. Rachel goes to seek out Clayton, he holds her hand to a bench for them to sit on. She tells him that she is in a lot of pain, she feels like last week wasn’t special now. She tells him that she is so in love with him that her heart is breaking. She throws herself on his lap and starts sobbing. He tells her that he wants to take it day by day, his family is there and he wants her to meet them. She agrees to stay and hugs him.
Clayton goes back to stand beside his roses, he says he is in love with both of them and he hopes that he has done enough to convince the two of them to stay. They both show up and he apologizes to the of them for putting them through this. Furthermore, they can choose not to accept the rose if they are unable to. Rachel is given the first rose, she accepts it and hugs Clayton. Gabby is second, she doesn’t accept the rose and says she is sorry, then asks him to walk her out.
Rachel looks shocked! Gabby levels with him, she came tonight because she thought it could be the two of them in the end, her trust in him carried her forward. She is not in the business of competing with anyone for love, he said he was going to pick the person he was most in love with.
She doesn’t want to be the most loved, you can’t measure love, and she doesn’t like feeling measured. She tells him to say sorry or something, then he does. Rachel meanwhile is wondering, does she stay, she is the last one there and not because he choose her, it feels awful. Gabby returns with Clayton and Rachel is very concerned for her. Clayton offers her the rose again, she accepts the rose.
Jesse has Bachelor Nation alums in the hot seat, Claire Crawley says it was cringy. Nick Viall says that Clayton left out one thing, he told Susie that he loved her the most. And everyone knows that Clayton loves Susie the most, except for Gabby and Rachel. Claire applauds everyone for putting their vulnerability out there.
Clayton’s family is in Iceland, his dad Brian hopes he finds someone. Clayton says he is in a bad spot, the hardest week of his life. He goes on to say he fell in love with three women, his father rolls his eyes. He tells them about Gabby and Rachel, who they will meet, but Susie told him that if he told any other woman he was in love with them or was intimidate with them, she could not move forward.
Brian says it is understandable. Brian tells him that he has to understand, they don’t want to be second or third. Brian tells him that he is in a tough position, it will be interesting. His mother says it is going to be hard to speak to the women, it is like they are the constellation prize. Clayton tells them that he is going to get Gabby.
Clayton’s mom has a chat with Gabby who admits she is falling in love with Clayton and in the end, she didn’t want to give up the chance that he could be her partner. His father tells her that he respects her for walking away. In the end, his parents really like her and the evening goes very well.
Time for Rachel to meet Clayton’s family, she is still feeling emotional but she is looking forward to meeting them. Clayton’s mom takes Rachel for a talk, she tells her that she was not expecting what happened, but she is still so in love. Clayton’s mothers seems to be more pro-Rachel because she didn’t try to walk away. His father says he would have slapped his son for what he did. Overall, the meeting went amazing in Rachel’s opinion.
Brian tells Clayton that he needs to figure out which one he wants to be with. And no matter what happens down this road, he is going to hurt someone, he needs to accept that fact. But, Clayton is still thinking about Susie.
Brian asks Clayton what his problem is. Clayton says in the moment he sees a future with each woman. But, since then, he has realized his heart is with Susie more than the other two. His family is shocked, she left him. He says the moment became too big for the two of them. He says he stopped listening, not her. Brian tells him that he is grasping at straws, she made the choice to walk. Clayton says he made the decision.
His brother asks him why he let her go then. Brian says when someone walks away, they are done and he thinks he is too caught up in the one that got away. His mother asks him why if he felt so much for Susie, did he sleep with the other two women. Brian is shocked and so is his mother, and tow brothers. Nate can’t believe this. Jesse walks in and tells the family a lot has happened and he wants Clayton to be happy at the end of this. Jesse asks Clayton what he wants to do, he says he wants to follow his heart, he wants closure with Susie. Clayton tell him that Susie is still in Iceland.
Bachelor Nation alums take their take on this evening’s episode, and unanimously they feel like Clayton should have his chance to speak to Susie, if anything, to close that door.
