Steffy’s recovery will indeed come with a stunning twist according to B&B spoilers, so let’s unpack that.
If Steffy simply wakes up the same as before, that’s not a twist.
The show’s going to offer a more unexpected outcome, so we have to consider that.
Of course, we also have to think about how they might draw things out when it comes to Sheila Carter’s (Kimberlin Brown) shooting secret.
Steffy can’t just wake up and point the finger at Sheila or else the story will be over. With that in mind, some form of amnesia will have to be involved here.
Steffy will inevitably have some memory issues that prevent her from identifying Sheila as her shooter.
Since B&B has to take that route anyway, why not take things a step further and deliver something even more shocking?
The show’s really playing up Liam’s connection to Steffy and how he used to be married to her.
Will that former marriage come back into play? What if the trauma of what Steffy’s been through reverts her that far back?
Steffy might initially awaken believing she’s still Liam’s wife.
It’s easy to imagine a newly awake Steffy demanding to see her husband – without mentioning him by name – only to learn he’s dead.
Steffy could then start wailing about losing Liam and leave everyone confused.
Once Liam walks in, things could get all kinds of awkward if Steffy starts calling him her husband and has no idea who John “Finn” Finnegan (Tanner Novlan) is!
Steffy will still go through a mourning period, so part of that could involve trying to remember this life she lived with Finn in pictures and bonding with Hayes Forrester Finnegan (Piper Harriot) since she wouldn’t remember him either.
It’d be an overwhelming experience and would leave Liam drawn to Steffy as he tries to help her through it.
There’s supposed to be a fresh spin on the whole Liam, Steffy and Hope Spencer (Annika Noelle) love triangle, so Steffy’s amnesia could fit into all that.
Whatever the case, Steffy’s recovery will bring a shocker and set up the complex next phase of this storyline.
