Tonight on NBC their new medical drama “The Good Doctor” airs with an all-new Monday, October 3, 2022, episode and we have you The Good Doctor recap below. In tonight’s The Good Doctor season 6 episode, 1 called, “Afterparty,” as per the ABC synopsis, “Shaun and Lea’s long-awaited wedding reception is interrupted by a violent attack at the hospital and the entire team must mobilize to save the victims. Meanwhile, the trauma of seeing people he cares for in life-threatening situations is affecting Shaun in more ways than one.”

Tonight’s The Good Doctor episode begins with Aaron and Marcus in the elevator, they are in there with a guy who has blood on his shoes and his neck. When they get out, security is alerted but when he tries to grab the guy, he gets stabbed and he gets stolen. Officers hear the shots and start coming, Alex calls a code silver, they are in lockdown. Everyone hears the code silver and starts to react. The attacker is recognized, it is Dalisay’s ex-boyfriend, and she is not answering her phone. Morgan gets a call from Alex who is outside, she is with Asher and they find out there is an active shooter. Shaun gets a message that Audrey might be in danger, he tells Lea that he has to go, Jordan follows, then so does Lea.
Morgan and Asher are in the hall, and a guy is hurt and calling for help. They try to take him to a safer place.
Shaun, Jordan, and Lea are the first on the scene. Marcus and Aaron arrive, and Marcus calls for stretchers.
Shaun says Audrey is dying, they have to help her right away. The stretchers have arrived, and Marcus orders for them to be brought to the OR immediately. Shaun tells Lea to find the surgical instruments they need to help out. Lea gets changed into scrubs and starts crying, then washes up. Audrey is in surgery, her left ventriloquial was nicked. Aaron is called out of surgery, they need help with Dalisay who is also in surgery.
Elsewhere, Morgan and Asher are still held up with the guy who is now in more pain. Asher says he is going to go find supplies in case they have to do surgery.
The shooter finds Asher in the hallway, he points his gun at him and tells him not to move. After a bit, Morgan opens the door and finds a tray of supplies, Asher is gone.
Shaun changed the call on Audrey, Aaron returns and he is not happy about it.
The cops have found the shooter and Asher, they start shooting. They run back to the room where Morgan is and he demands she open it or he will Shoot Asher. Morgan opens the door and the shooter now has three hostages.
Shaun’s method works, he tells Aaron it was a reasonable call.
Marcus gets a message about the hostage standoff on the fifth floor and knows it is Morgan and Asher.
The shooter asks Morgan how Dalisay is, he loves her. Azer is passing out, Asher tells the shooter that he needs surgery right away. Morgan gets permission to call Alex for assistance with how to perform the surgery. Morgan turns to the shooter and tells him that if they operate here it will kill him. Dalisay and Audrey are going to be ok, so they only have him on attempted murder. But if this kid does, that changes everything. He lets Morgan and Azer leave, Answer has to stay with him.
Audrey is waking up, she is glad that Dalisay is going to be ok. Aaron credits Shaun for saving her life. All of a sudden, Audrey has pain in her chest.
The shooter confides in Asher that his dad beat up his mom, and put her in the hospital a couple of times, he hated his guts. Spent his childhood saying he was different. Asher says his dad is dying, he has a couple of weeks, and it is cancer. He put him on a plane back to NY, things between them will never get fixed, there is not enough time. Asher tells him that there is still time for him. Asher tells him there are only two ways out of this, he turns himself in or he dies. The guy empties the gun chamber and hands it to Asher, who thanks him.
The shooter opens the door, walks out and aims to shoot the officer with an empty gun, and gets shot by the officers.
Ansher has the shooter on a stretcher and brings him to the OR, he needs a bypass machine but there is only one for Audrey. There is a harder, different surgery they can use for Audrey, but Shaun is against it. He doesn’t want Audrey to suffer when she did nothing wrong. Marcus and Aaron disagree, they have to save both if they can. During surgery, Audrey is having difficulty and Shaun freaks out, they have to remove him from the operating room. Lea tries to speak to Shaun but he is in a stance. Aaron comes out, he tells Shaun that they need him. Shaun sees his brother and tells him that he died because of him. His brother tells him it was not his fault. With the help of Lea and his brother’s memory, Shaun is able to help get Audrey stable.
The hospital is secure and back to a code silver. The shooter, Dalisay and alive. Audrey hasn’t woken up yet, Shaun tells Lea he wants to wait. Then he tells her that he saw his brother Steve and he told him that it wasn’t his fault that he died, and he is trying to believe him. He says tonight was very hard, and he would have been able to help Audrey if it wasn’t for her. As much as he loved her before, he loves her more now. He is so happy that she is his wife. He says he feels married now.
Morgan is leaving the hospital and she sees Alex waiting for her, she runs into his arms. She says she thought she was going to die, she thought of him, not about that job. She has turned the job down. He says when she decided to take the job, she choose her career over them. He had to face it, that is who she is. And she is not going to change. She says she has changed. He says for the moment.
Audrey is awake, Shaun, Marcus, and Aaron are with her and she jokes that she may need a few personal days. Then, she says she can’t move her legs. Shaun says she is paralyzed.
